This is who we are…
Kamala Harris didn’t win… lost the election.
The convicted felon won… was elected by not only the necessary majority of the electoral college votes but this time around he actually won the popular vote too… 72,302,757 for Trump to 67, 581,
789 for Harris.
Not only that but the Republicans… at least in my mind… kicked the Democrats ass by not only seeing Trump elected to be the president but hey swung the Senate to their favor and while there are still Representative seats to be decided they are also well to keep control of the House meaning that they pretty much will have control of the government of the United States of America for at the next four years. The next four years of conservatives creating a climate of likely hell for the welfare of the majority of we the people, especially the working class folks, those who are impoverished, immigrants (both legal and illegal), the LGBTQ community, the criminal justice system in its entirety and our foreign allies at large.
And as of right now I no longer will accept people saying that “This is not who we are.”
Because it damn well is.
Yes, there are many in this country who are caring who envision/dream of living in a world that groks the meaning and essence of “liberty and justice for all…”
But…
A majority of voters… 72,302, 757 of them… cast their ballot for a racist, mean-spirited, bigoted in every way possible, self-centered narcissist, misogynistic, bullying asshole.
All you liberals and progressives, even fair amount of you moderates, can swear up and down that not you are not in any way shape or form a Trumpist or hold sway with any of Trump’s anti-we-the-people policies all you want but the fact is the United States of America is at this point… or at the time that Trump is inaugurated… a very regressive and racist country.
It is who we have become. America has revealed its true self… and like it or not… it is who we are… a bigoted electorate who just screwed the pooch, as well as themselves, in electing a fascist to be the so-called leader of the United States.
Understand this…
We the people of America have just elected a person who as recently as last week told a crowd that he wouldn’t mind if someone shot at the news media who were present at his rally…
He has also suggested that former Republican congresswoman Liz Cheney would not be such a “war hawk” if she went into combat and had guns “trained on her face,” claims that immigrants are ‘poisoning the blood of our country” and has openly pledged to “root out the communists, Marxists, fascists, and radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country” through the deportation of millions of those immigrants, who says his political opponents are “the enemy from within“ and if necessary will use the military to go after those opponents, that he “ … (wants) to protect the women of our country. … (and) I’m going to do it whether the women like it
or not,” and still insists he “shouldn’t have left” the White House while continuing his lie that he won the 2020 election.
And that just a short list of who and what Trump is and a peek into how Trump’s thinking will negatively affect the governing of we the people of the United States of America.
So again, after America elected Trump…
This is who we are.
