On this Thanksgiving Eve…

WTF (and therefore me) is taking the week off from its usual meanderings and musings about the political and sociological welfare and state of the U.S.A. (sometimes the world) and we the peoples.

Instead…

Happy Thanksgiving to all… let it be peaceful and happy where we can all just forget for a few hours or so about what ails the world and just enjoy family, friends and for the grace of having enough to eat and a warm place to lay down our bodies and be safe.

Henry David Thoreau quote…

I am thankful and grateful for what I have… enough money to get by (barely sometimes, but I do), my general safety and welfare and a small but comfortable enough home; some true friends and a few dear and near cousins who have had my back in more ways than one.

And… (for my one small kinda, sorta political aside for the day)

I refuse to let the bastards get me down…

America survived a civil war, the Jim Crow era, the Great Depression, tin soldiers and Nixon and Covid among its many travails though its relatively short history… and… America can survive now and come back stronger than ever.

“And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make…”

I sincerely hope you all have a Thanksgiving safe and full of peace and comfort and full bellies.

Another thousand words…

Joe
