DJ’s lead pipe locks for October 28th, 2017

Sorry, I’ve been absent…….gotta start doing these during the week and not at the last minute…..

So, for those keeping a scorecard at home on old DJ….I’m 8-4 on the season since I started doing these…..not too shabby. Not too shabby at all.

Miami @ North Carolina 12pm ET ESPN2

This is easy.

The Tar Heels are absolutely decimated and ravaged by injuries……so much some are calling for head coach’s head Larry Fedora’s head on a platter, which is unfair since he’s 2 years removed from an 11-3 season. This season he gets a pass due to the injuries but this season can’t be doing anything for their recruiting.

Miami is good enough to coast through this one and still win easily. You could almost call it a bye week for the Hurricanes and head coach Mark Richt, who is off to a very good start in his debut at the school.

My picks are Hurricanes -20.5 and the under 55.5.

Prediction: Miami wins, 38-10.

Penn State @ Ohio State 3:30pm ET FOX

This will be the game of the day imo and it should be an excellent battle.

It’s going to be Saquon Barkley against the Buckeyes defense. Barkley did pretty well last week against a solid Michigan defense…..Ohio State got beat by Oklahoma but that was pretty much through the air. The Sooners only rushed for 104 yards with a long of 13. And they are allowing just 109 yards per game on the ground. So its not going to be easy at all.

So, expect the Buckeyes to stack the box and force quarterback Trace McSorley to beat them with the passing game. He has thrown 14 TD’s and just five intereceptions….with the offensive line struggling, his mobility will be key in buying time to find open recievers and to gain yards when nobody is open. Ohio State also struggled in the season opener against Indiana’s passing attack.

My picks are Penn State +6.5 and the under 57.5.

Prediction: The Buckeyes win, 27-23. And throw a wrench in the playoffs with a win at home. I just don’t see OSU losing a 2nd big game at home. Meyer will have them ready and focused.

Just 2 games this week……have enjoy the games and have fun, remember this is just for entertainment, don’t bet the house!!!!
