Game of Thrones S7 Primer Melisandre and Night’s King

Lets keep in mind that this is not a full breakdown of everything GOT, but more a primer of what has happened and what you need to know moving forward. (Example, the whole Drago storyline and Viserys? Not really needed since that’s a dead thread and everyone involved is dead.)
There are also a ton of minor players who will get their treatment.
Again, keep in mind, David has read the books, and Earl just read them waiting for Season Seven, and don’t be that asshole that spoils the series for no reason but evil glee. What the hell is wrong with you? So if we miss something IN THE SHOW, by all means let us know.

High Priestess of R’hllor, but don’t worry about the name, just know this is a God that loves him some fire. She has been working with Stannis Baratheon, thinking he is the One True King, and by blood-right he was. She has some serious creepy abilities and a smoking (pun intended) body, both of whom she has used to help Stannis. She created a creature nicknamed a “smoke baby” that killed his youngest brother Renly, witnesses by Brienne of Tarth. Ser Davos doesn’t like or trust her. Melisandre helped convince Stannis to come to the Wall to defeat the Wildlings, then turned South to try and take Winterfell. When the weather didn’t clear, Melisandre convinced Stannis that only a sacrifice could save them, and Stannis burned his daughter Shireen – the weather cleared, but Stannis’ wife killed herself, and half his army took off in disgust. Soon Roose Bolton attacked, and Stannis was found and killed by Brienne of Tarth. Melisandre had left earlier to go back to the Wall. Arriving at the Wall, she finds that Jon Snow has been killed, but uses her power to resurrect him, and she regains her faith in the Lord of Light. After the battle of Winterfell, the burning of Shireen is discovered by Davos, and he wants her head. Jon Snow only casts her out of the North and gives her a horse to ride south.

Night King

The Night’s King is the leader of the White Walkers. He is the one that is able to raise the dead to more soldiers to his army, and changes the male Craster’s babies to more White Walkers. The Knight’s King kills the Three Eyed Raven in Season Six, and continues to add to his forces.
