Kenyan in the woodpile @ WTF 4/19

Keeping it short and simple… been busy doing Easter stuff and having me some “me time”, but I still gots responsibility…

That’s just the way it is…

Just the other day (4/18) the NYDN’s OpEd contributor Shaun King wrote about how… “No President in American history has ever golfed more per week than Donald Trump. In his first 12 weeks in office Trump took a staggering 18 golf course trips. That’s unheard of. In his first 12 weeks in office, President Obama didn’t visit a single golf course. By the end of this year, it’s likely that Trump will have golfed more than President Obama has in his entire presidency.”

King then made the point that the entire proposition of that reality is just weird… or as he put it… strange…

Why?

Because… “Donald Trump and other conservative pundits seemed to be deeply bothered by the times President Obama went out and golfed. It appeared to genuinely offend them. They obsessed over it.”

And, it was a blatant fact that during his campaign to be president Trumpty Dumpty said, “I’m going to be working for you. I’m not going to have time to go play golf.”

King also points out that in 2013, Sean Hannity said… or tweeted as the case was… “Glad our arrogant Pres. is enjoying his taxpayer funded golf outing after announcing the US should take military action against Syria.”

Or… How Fig Newtown Gingrich tweetedly dummed, “Trump and president obsma (sic) both golf but trump doesn’t charge the taxpayers $920,000 for a golf weekend in florida (sic).”

Before I go on… ummm… That’s right. He… as in Trumpty… doesn’t charge we the people anywhere near $920 Gs for his golf outings.

The cost to we the people is in the neighborhood of $1.6 million.

At least according to a report from CNN it is.

CNN’s Dan Merica says, “Donald Trump’s travel to his private club in Florida has cost over an estimated $20 million in his first 80 days as president, putting the president on pace in his first year of office to surpass former President Barack Obama’s spending on travel for his entire eight years. The outsized spending on travel stands in stark relief to Trump’s calls for belt tightening across the federal government and the fact that he regularly criticized Obama for costing the American taxpayer money every time he took a trip… To date, Trump has spent six weekends… and a total of 21 days… at Mar-A-Lago, his private Palm Beach club. The total estimated costs for those trips are around $21.6 million.”

Hmmmm…. seems as if Fig Newton has either some revisionist reality… alternative facts… or fake news… shit working there…

Back to King and presidents who golf…

But, here’s the strange thing about all this… and kinda, sorta why Shaun King was writing his column… there’s no longer an outrage that a president is able to find the time to play some golf.

Bob Hope admires technique of Bing Crosby.

And, to be fair and truthful… before the Bamster became the prez… there was never any outrage when presidents took a little “me” time to play some golf. Oh, sure old Mr. ski jump nose Bob Hope would make some funny aside funnies with his golf partner and sometimes co-star der Bingle Crosby about then prez Ike playing the links… but… overall… not really.

But the Bamster becomes the prez?

Whoa Nelly and bar the door Katie… that mook is playing golf again?! Instead of paying attention to all the damn trouble this country is in? Why the little…

Or, as King says, “Suddenly, the costs of golfing don’t seem to offend Trump or Newt or Hannity anymore. And I sincerely, genuinely don’t think the problem is political.”

He adds, “… it’s clear that conservatives never really had a problem with a golfing President, what they hated seeing was a black golfing President. I also think this was the subconscious message that Trump was pulling on throughout the campaign trail to his almost exclusively white audiences (my italics) …. (the) problem was that few things irritate bigoted white men more than an uppity negro… (and) … it was never about costs, or convenience, it was all about white rage at the gall of uppity Negroes to do anything other than work their fingers to the bone.”

And, while l don’t think every damn conservative, or white person, felt, or feels, that way, I do think a fair amount of conservatives as well as a significant number of white America did and still does.

If, you have been reading WTF for any amount of time you will realize, I have always felt there was a double standard when it comes to the presidency of Barack Obama.

Mitch McConnell: Top Priority, Make Obama a One Term President

From day one of this black human being elected to be the president of America, political geeks like Mitch “The Bitch” McConnell was on record saying said the elephants number one job was to get the Bamster’s black ass kicked out of the White House. Yeah, he didn’t say kick the Bamster’s black ass out but like the song says… “you don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.”

Not to see what could be done to fix America’s economic malaise… or get health care for poor folks… or create jobs… by maybe repairing or building needed highways and byways… or any of the other myriad things that America needed their politicians to do… which, frankly, is what their damn job description is any way. In other words, certain of us Americans elected the elephants to office so they could do things to improve their lives in America, but they somehow feel all that should take a rear seat in their political careers… simply because it was time to roll up their sleeves and get busy getting down and dirty to get rid of the Kenyan in the woodpile… ummm… I mean White House.

And, Trumpty Dumpty took that elephant playbook and exploited it completely to his advantage… right into the Casa Blanca and so far, throughout his infant… and infantile…  administration.

At every twist and turn the real mook in the White House, and his hired cronies, have taken pains to keep on bringing up the Bamster’s name in very unpleasant and disparaging tones.

The US dropped more than 26,000 bombs in 2016… guess who was the president… Obama

I have my own problems with the Bamster’s reign as the so-called leader of the free world. The foremost being that he probably did think of his ass as the damn leader of the “most powerful nation in the world” whose job it was to going around waging all sorts of war to make the universe safe for democracy. Which, in a word, is bullshit. He was just another tool making money for his real bosses…  and, they ain’t us babe.

But, the pattern of Trumpty Dumpty’s first 89 days in office (and counting) has been Trumpty takes credit for the Bamster’s successes and blames the Bamster when something goes kablooey.

Examples?

Glad you asked…

In March, the Bureau for Labor Statistics said the country had added 235,000 jobs in February and that the unemployment rate was lowered to 4.7%.

Trumpty was tweeting loudly and proudly that already we the people were seeing very great and remarkable results of his policies.

But… it was just a continuation of a trend that marked the Bamster presidency… over 75 months of job growth.

The same numbers Trumpty called fake when the Bamster was the prez are now very great and a result of his being the prez.

Recently, the violent gang called MS-13 have been making news both for its being a violent and murderous gang and for having some of its members being arrested for some of the torture and murders that they committed.

But Trumpty says “The weak illegal immigration policies of the Obama Admin. allowed bad MS 13 gangs to form in cities across U.S. We are removing them fast!”

The reality is the FBI has been cracking down on MS-13 since 2009… the Bamster’s first year in the White House.

When the El Salvadoran based gangsters sent in people to fix their U.S. gangs, violence began to rise again. Fox News blamed it all on the Bamster’s 2014 decision to let Central American children needing refuge to come to America. Fox news

Fox, infamously and incredibly, said… “The Obama administration flew them all over. They are in your schools folks.”

Fox all but neglected the fact that the Bamster had told the Wall Street Journal, “Felons, not families. Criminals, not children. Gang members, not a mom who’s working hard to provide for her kids. We’ll prioritize, just like law enforcement does every day.” And, that the MS-13 criminals would be a priority to be busted and then on the top of the governments’ deportation lists.

Or…

In March when the news was released that a former Guantanamo detainee was killed by an airstrike in Yemen and that at least 122 former Gitmo detainees were now back waging terror on the world… or at least on their part of the world.

Trump immediately re-broadcast the information… only he added a little side and snide note… “122 vicious prisoners, released by the Obama Administration from Gitmo, have returned to the battlefield. Just another terrible decision!”

Unfortunately, the numbers (which originated from the Director of National Intelligence) says that of the 122 detainees who got out of Guantanamo that the government believes returned to waging war on humanity… 9 happened during the Bamster’s administration and the rest… 113… happened under Bush.

Or…

In late February, when protestors were raging against his ass… especially at those town-hall meetings where elected elephants were getting raked over the coals…  as well as the leaks that were emanating from the White House that weren’t exactly saying nice shit about him were… Trumpty told Fox News… “… President Obama’s behind it, because his people are certainly behind it. And some of the leaks possibly come from that group. You know, some of the leaks, which are really very serious leaks, because they’re very bad in terms of national security, but I also understand that’s politics. And in terms of him being behind things, that’s politics, and it will probably continue.”

Or…

When the recent Syrian nastiness occurred… “I think the Obama administration had a great opportunity to solve this crisis a long time ago when he said the red line in the sand…. when he didn’t cross that line after making the threat, I think that set us back a long ways, not only in Syria, but in many other parts of the world, because it was a blank threat. I think it was something that was not one of our better days as a country.”

And… then White House Press Secretary Sean of the Dead Spicer announced at one of his press confabs that Trumpty doesn’t draw red lines.

Or…

Back in January, when Trumpty tried to pull off his discriminatory and illegal Muslim ban Spicer said, “What this says is we are going to protect our country and our people. There are forty-six other countries that are not part of this, and I think that’s an important thing to note. Whether you’re talking about Algeria, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, or the UAE. There’s forty-six Muslim-majority countries that are not in this set. These seven countries were identified by the Obama administration as needing further travel scrutiny.”

Ummm… one dude said some countries might need “more scrutiny” and the other dude signed an executive order with an immense amount of self-pride on national television that banned Muslims.

Or…

When the government ordered Trumpty’s’ first raid… barely a week in as the Prez… in an attempt to get gather intel… (or was it to show how tough and committed he was as the prez who would get them damn terrorists?) … and when it instead killed about 30 civilians and lost a Navy Seal… that was an operation authorized by Obama.

It was true the designs for the raid were begun under the Bamster’s regime but he never signed off on it… Trumpty did. Ya think, maybe Bam didn’t sign off on it was because he thought it might be a bad idea or needed more analysis? Just maybe?

Or…

Even the annual White House Easter egg roll… which wasn’t an overwhelming success this year by most accounts… was somehow a blame event for the Bamster.  Trumpty insisted there would be a big turnout when he said that there will be “a lot of people… a lot of people… and they’re going to have a great time.”  And, even tried turning it into a propaganda moment when he said… “We will be stronger and bigger as a nation than ever before and we are right on track.”

But, due to poor planning by White House peeps the event was decidedly lackluster and there was Sean of the Dead saying… “This is about the children. When you actually scrape it back, last year was the last year the Obama Administration, they ratcheted it up, I think there were a lot of issues with kids being disconnected and families being separated.”

HUH? What the fuck that does that have anything to do with anything?

Again… misdirection.

Bring in the Bam’s name and turn the conversation elsewhere but on your own mistakes or inadequacies.

Ya know what?

It is time to put on the big boy and girl pants. Grow up and grow a pair and own up to the fact you are in power and you need to take the weight going forward. Stop blaming someone else for shit that that goes on. You make the decisions. So, either make the right ones and take the credit. But damn it, Jim… take the weight for what goes down when you are wrong. And stop saying… “It was his fault.

Just like with the Bamster… after time it just needed to stop being what Bush did wrong and instead be about what he did or did not do right. Only problem was some peeps couldn’t get past the fact that the cat in the Oval Office wasn’t one of them. Instead he was an uppity Negro who didn’t understand

Standing in line, marking time
Waiting for the welfare dime
‘Cause they can’t buy a job
The man in the silk suit hurries by
As he catches the poor old ladies’ eyes
Just for fun he says, “get a job”

That’s just the way it is
Some things will never change
That’s just the way it is
Ah, but don’t you believe them

Said, hey little boy you can’t go where the others go
‘Cause you don’t look like they do
Said, hey old man how can you stand
To think that way
Did you really think about it
Before you made the rules?

He said, “son
That’s just the way it is
Some things will never change
That’s just the way it is
Ah, but don’t you believe them”

Oh yeah

(That’s just the way it is)

(That’s just the way it is) well, they passed a law in ’64
To give those who ain’t got a little more
But it only goes so far
Because the law don’t change another’s mind
When all it sees at the hiring time
Is the line on the color bar, no, no

That’s just the way it is
And some things will never change
That’s just the way it is
That’s just the way it is, it is, it is, it is
