Pedophilia or sexual abuse of children is never a laughing matter nor is it something that should ever be taken lightly… and… it’s an issue that is very personal to me…
I prefer to keep it private, and, so it will stay that way. But… it is something I take very seriously and when child abuse… pedophilia… raises its ugly head… it stirs my emotions hard…
Stealing a line from Pink Floyd… loosely adapted… Hey! Politicians! Leave our kids alone…
Milo Yiannopoulos recently was blasted with a shit storm of blowback over a comment he recently made that could be taken no other way than he was advocating or supporting pedophilia or he was saying sexual abuse of children is OK.
The dude is a student and member of the Breitbart school of journalism wherein he is confrontational, antagonistic, provocational and something of a general pain in the ass conservative who goes around saying stuff because he wants to get people’s dander all up in the air or because he just wants to hear his own voice or see his own words and get eyes on him the person. But… hey…it’s supposedly a free country and he can say or write what he pleases as long as it’s not plagiarism or being outright defamatory and a suable offense. Besides, sometimes he even serves a purpose and the feathers he rustles are those of the overly politically correct thought control gendarmes… on both sides of the political spectrum… or… those peeps who allow free speech and being tolerant as long as it isn’t being overly critical of their opinions or calling into question their tolerance… again… on both sides of the political spectrum.
So… saying stuff that is offensive and sometimes gross is not out of the norm for him… stuff like when he called a BuzzFeed reporter “a typical example of the sort of thick-as-pig-shit media Jew.”
Or… “Birth control makes women unattractive and crazy”
Or… “Trannies are gay” …
Or… “No, JC Penny, fat people should absolutely hate themselves” …
Or… “Sorry, girls! But the smartest people in the world are all men” …
Or… “I’m worried not enough teenagers are self-harming.”
(Thanks to Sarah Elizabeth Cupp who is a very conservative op-ed writer and political commentator for that grouping of questionable Milo quotes… saved me bunches of time.)
OK… that last one… about teens being self-harming… is way over the line in my mind but maybe that’s just me.
Also… understand that he is gay as well as a victim of being sexually used as child.
Knowing all of this then… Milo said, that pedophilia is something that can give young boys “security and safety and provide them with love and a reliable rock where they can’t speak to their parents.” And… “I’m grateful for Father Michael. I wouldn’t give nearly such good head if it wasn’t for him.”
To be clear, and, so there can be no mistake or suggesting that I am quoting him out of context here are his remarks in their entirety…
“We get hung up on this sort of child abuse stuff, to the point where we are heavily policing consensual adults. In the homosexual world, particularly, some of those relationships between younger boys and older men — the sort of ‘coming of age’ relationship — those relationships in which those older men help those young boys discover who they are and give them security and safety and provide them with love and a reliable, sort of rock, where they can’t speak to their parents.”
When it was pointed out that what he was saying sure sounded like “Catholic priest molestation,” that’s when Milo said the stuff about his sexual involvement with Father Michael and said“You know what? I’m grateful for Father Michael. I wouldn’t give nearly such good head if it wasn’t for him…”
And… in another interview Milo confirmed that when he was 14-years old, he had sexual relations with a priest but that he was not molested… because sexual attraction to somebody 13 years old who is sexually mature is mutual consent AND Pedophilia is an attraction to children who have not reached puberty.”
And, while he may be technically correct in saying that it wasn’t pedophilia … according to a study published in American Psychiatric Publishing entitled “Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders”, the cut-off point for prepubescence to age 13… and… therefore it is not technically pedophilia if a child is 14… it would still have been at the minimum sexual molestation of a child. Teens… no matter what they may think are still children. Children who are maturing at a rapid rate and quickly becoming adults but none the less still children.
I would also suggest… I don’t know him personally… I don’t know his exact circumstances… but I would strongly think, and, therefore suggest, that he is in some form of denial that what occurred was a form of sex abuse or he is suffering from a self-imposed… and misdirected… guilt trip.
In one fell swoop he is tacitly saying it’s OK to be used as a sexual plaything if for no other reason than some sort of attention from an adult-parent-authority figure, no matter how degrading, is better than having your parents not understand you or not being not being able to communicate them… and… it’s not so bad when priests molest children after all… there is some good that can be had from children being molested and abused… especially in a sexual manner… if nothing else… it can make them better sex objects for future sexual partners.
For many staid and stuffed shirts conservatives, Milo’s remarks have come close to crossing the line… and, in fact has crossed it… many times.
But, sooner or later, they have usually just pointed out the unwiseness and/or indelicateness of his remarks…
Or… said (usually to the liberals who are pissed at Milo) something to the effect of “While I don’t agree with his remarks, it is a free country and what’s the matter? Now that the shoe’s on the foot you don’t like free speech and are now being intolerant?” …
Or… they just ignored his comments altogether figuring if they ignore it long enough then eventually it will fade away from the consciousness of those that were most offended by anything he had said.
But…whoaaaa, Nelly… now that he is suggesting children being sexually abused… aka pedophilia… is OK… that’s an entirely different story. We can’t have that shit going down.
So… the consequence of Milo’s latest comments have resulted in his being roasted over the coals very publicly by both the right and the left and all political points in-between.
However… and in my opinion… Milo needs to be roasted over the coals for suggesting… even if it is as he claims, just sarcasm… for even suggesting that pedophilia is OK or that some good somehow could come out of a child being sexually used and abused… because… no matter how you dice it and slice it…. Pedophilia is simply NOT OK.
But the hypocrisy of the right in condemning Milo is if not outrageous it is at least extremely curious…
Why? Simply because historically they have had many peeps on their side of the political fence who have said extremely objectionable and disgusting comments about women, gays and whoever else in a sexual frame of reference that simply should have never been uttered because the words show an entire lack of respect, compassion and understanding of anyone who is not what they are… politically conservative, self-described Christian and grumpy… and usually old but not always… white men.
These are just some of the peeps that the elephants call their own…
Justin Humphrey… is an elephant state representative in Oklahoma and the author of House Bill 1441 which was just passed a House Public Health Committee with a 5-2 vote. It now needs to face the full Oklahoma House. If it passes there, it goes to the Senate and then, to the governor to be signed into law or vetoed.
What the hell is House Bill 1441? This…
If passed and enacted, then… women must get men’s permission to have an abortion in Oklahoma.
Specifically, the Humphrey authored bill says that a woman would have to tell who the father is and then his “written, informed” consent, before she could have the abortion. Additionally, the bill says that the father can nix a women’s decision to have an abortion even where it is a case of incest.
The newspaper The Oklahoman reported that Humphrey has called women only the “host” to an unborn baby.
Dennis Hastert… in 2015 the former elephant U.S. House speaker was about to be sentenced for paying “shut the fuck money” to cover up his many years of sexually molesting teenage boys when he was a Illinois high school wrestling coach from 1965 until 1981.
Mind you, although he was guilty of the molestations, the charge he was to be sentenced for was paying the shut the fuck up… or hush… money.
Should have been a done deal right? Over 40 letters were received by the court from people like former elephant House Majority Leader Tom Delay. Hastert’s defense team said they had gotten 60 letters but when the details of Hastert’s pedophilia was made public they suddenly told the defense team… something to the effect of… “That’s okay… just tear my letter up.
Delay wrote, “We all have our flaws, but Dennis Hastert has very few. He is a good man that loves the Lord.” He also wrote, “He doesn’t deserve what he is going through. I ask that you consider the man that is before you and give him leniency where you can.”
Ex-fucking-cuse me? The same leniency that he offered to the children he molested? The crime may have been paying hush-money but at the base of the crime… the reason the money was offered… was to keep his dirty little secret just that… a secret.
Other elephants who wrote the court for leniency included former elephant Reps. Thomas Ewing (IL), David Dreier (CA), Porter Goss (FL and also a former CIA director) and John Doolittle (CA).
Clayton Williams… through his Texas company Clayton Williams Energy, he was heavily invested in petroleum-related interests in the exploration and production of natural gas and transportation and extraction of natural gas and natural gas liquids. He eventually diversified into other areas such as telecommunications and banking. In January 2017, Clayton Williams Energy was sold to Noble Energy for $2.7 billion.
In 1990 Williams had political aspirations and ran to be the governor of Texas. At one point he led his donkey opponent by more than twenty points… but… through a series of some serious and some not so serious faux pas he ran his election bid permanently into the ground.
Among the not so serious faux pas? His refusal to shake his female opponent’s hand before a debate…
Among the seriously more serious faux pas? When he publicly made a joke likening the crime of rape to the weather, having stated: “If (rape) is inevitable, just relax and enjoy it.”
Rick Santorum… a former elephant Senator from Pennsylvania and a self-described “true Christian conservative” once told USA Today that “Every society in the history of man has upheld the institution of marriage as a bond between a man and a woman…. In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That’s not to pick on homosexuality. It’s not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing. And when you destroy that you have a dramatic impact on the quality.”
On another he appeared on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight program and was asked about his stance on abortion and whether he believed abortion was wrong even in cases of incest and rape. Santorum said, while pregnancy resulting due to rape might be “horrible,” it was nonetheless a “gift of human life” and that “(women) have to make the best out of a bad situation.”
Todd Akin… In 2012, during a run for a seat in the US Senate, he was by St. Louis television station KTVI whether he believed abortion was justified in cases of rape, and he responded by saying, “It seems to be, first of all, from what I understand from doctors, it’s really rare. If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut the whole thing down.”
Richard Mourdock… he once ran as an elephant for one of Indiana’s U.S. Senate seats, was engaged in a debate with the other candidates when the issue of abortion was brought up. He said, “Even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.”
In other words, it is God’s will that the rape happened and tough fucking luck.
Jodie Laubenberg… was an elephant member of the Texas House of Representatives when where she had introduced to the House a bill that included a ban on abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. When Rep. Senfronia Thompson proposed adding an exemption for victims of rape and incest, Laubenberg argued against the exemption.
Her reasoning… “In the emergency room they have what’s called rape kits, where a woman can get cleaned out.”
Just like washing your hair… rinse and dry and its all good. No worries, no muss, no fuss.
Lawrence Lockman… he is an elephant member of the Maine House of representatives since 2012 and prior… way prior, like in the 1990s… he once said “If a woman has (the right to an abortion), why shouldn’t a man be free to use his superior strength to force himself on a woman? At least the rapist’s pursuit of sexual freedom doesn’t (in most cases) result in anyone’s death.”
Maybe not physically but emotionally; psychologically… extremely hard to recover from forced sex and some women never make it back to regaining their importance of self… their self-esteem. Meaning their life has become almost… if not completely akin to being… meaningless. Meaningless in so many ways that they are almost dead to the world.
Rush Limbaugh… the right winger and A-list conservative banner waver… where to begin….
This one? “How many guys, in your own experience with women, have learned that no means yes if you know how to spot it? … Are these (laws being introduced that when a women says no its just that… NO) not lawsuits waiting to happen”
In Limburger cheese’s bizarro world… no doesn’t mean no. Imagine that.
James Holmes… no… not the Aurora mass murder but federal judge and George W. Bush appointee James Leon Holmes.
Sharon Barnes… in 2012, the elephant from Missouri, said, “Abortion is never an option. At that point, if God has chosen to bless this person with a life, you don’t kill it.”
Another one believing conception from rape is God’s will.
And…. sound the clarions of pomp…
Donald Trump… good old Trumpty Dumpty himself… prior to becoming our fearless leader… during the 2016 campaign once said… “You cannot rape your spouse. And there’s very clear case law.”
What can I say… the elephants… when it comes to women’s rights… children’s rights… are some of the more hypocritical peeps out there.
What happens when I do a web search for “Democrats who have said some stupid stuff about rape, abortion or child abuse?
I keep getting examples of the stupid stuff the elephants have said or done.
Another thousand words…
This weeks gratuitous pictures…
