The big muddy has come back to haunt us but in ways we never though imaginable.
Instead of being envisioned as being stuck in a hot humid and sometimes swampy and damp forested Vietnam, the big muddy is now in America itself and is being reimagined as the presidential campaign of 2016…
The shit is getting deep in the big muddy and before long it may be more than any one of us can deal with…
Why can’t we use them?
Media host Joe Scarborough during a recent MSNBC morning segment said he’d heard from a national security expert who several months ago briefed Trumpty Dumpty about some international situations and procedural stuff Trumpty asked that if we have nuclear weapons then “Why can’t we use them?”
The comments came as George W. Bush’s former CIA Director, Michael Hayden, was being interviewed and he was warning anyone who cared to listen that Trumpty ain’t exactly the most stable of folks out and about in this world… at least when it comes to being the commander in chief of the country. Hayden said, “He’s inconsistent, and when you’re the head of a global super-power, inconsistency, unpredictability, those are dangerous things, they frighten your friends and they tempt your enemies.”
When another person on the show expressed shock that such a question was posed… a very long pregnant pause and silence was heard… and… then co-host Mika Brzezinski, the daughter of President Jimmy Carter’s national security adviser, said… “Be careful, America, and be careful, Republican leaders: Your party is blowing up.”
Imagine this … North Korea… Iran (yeah, right you may believe they don’t have nuclear weapon capability but ya know what? I fucking don’t)… India… Pakistan… China… UK… Soviet Union… all in a snit over some shit and then in comes Trumpty and he sings… “But fortunately I have the key to escape this reality…”
Stupid is as stupid does…
As if things couldn’t get more stupid with the elephants Khizr Khan and his wife Ghazala Khan, the parents of fallen hero soldier Capt. Humayun Khan. First Trumpty insults them and now Ben Carson is suggesting that they should tell Trumpty that they are sorry for “insulting” Trumpty.
Trump, who is getting trashed by both the elephants and the donkeys over his comments where he lashed out at the Khans when he said, “Mr. Khan, who does not know me, viciously attacked me from the stage of the DNC and is now all over T.V. doing the same…Nice!”
Among Mr. Khan’s attacks against Trumpty was when he called out Trumpty for his anti Muslim rhetoric and stance that Muslims should be prevented from entering the US on any basis… Kahn also said the elephant candidate had never made a sacrifice in his life.
Then he doubled down and strongly implied that the hero soldier’s mom was being forbidden to speak at the DNC because her Muslim faith would not allow it.
She then spoke out… and in doing so she called him a “black soul.”
Carson, the retired neurosurgeon, stood by his stance that the Khans should apologize for attacking Trump when he said, “If you accuse someone of something that’s not true, usually it is a reasonable thing to acknowledge that.”
The Khan’s should apologize for calling out a person who has insulted their faith, their heritage, their very being and then further disrespected them as he disgraced their son’s memory by trying to compare the sacrifice of the son’s life being lost while in a combat zone trying to protect and save fellow soldiers to his being a successful businessman who created thousand of jobs and built large buildings?
For that the Khans need to apologize?
I don’t think so.
But… I do think… not only should Trumpty tell the Khans he was disrespectful to them and their son’s memory BUT so should the clueless Carson. Seriously…
How the fuck did this schmuck ever make it to be neurosurgeon?
Now about that sacrifice Trumpty made…
Last Monday while he was stumping for Hillary Billary, Warren Buffet took on Trumpty’s comments about his sacrifices.
Buffet who was at a rally for the Hills in his hometown of Omaha took Trumpty to task specifically for claiming that he had made “sacrifices” due to his being a successful businessman who worked hard to be where he was and had built buildings, etc…. after Khizr Khan had said Trumpty had sacrificed nothing for the country during his speech at the DNC.
Buffet said that both he and Trumpty made bunches of money but that “I have not sacrificed.” He added, “How in the world can you stand up to a couple of parents who lost a son and talk about sacrificing because you were building a bunch of buildings?”
Mr. Buffett then said, “Have you no sense of decency, sir?”
This was a direct reference that was given to the fear mongering red scare anti communist Senator Joseph McCarthy during his disgraceful 1950’s Senate anti-Communist hearings. The army’s chief legal representative, Joseph Nye Welch had just heard McCarthy try to attack and slander a man in his office and said, “Until this moment, Senator, I think I never really gauged your cruelty or your recklessness…”
When McCarthy tried to further his slander against the man… Welch interrupted him and said, “Let us not assassinate this lad further, Senator. You’ve done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?”
Can’t add a damn thing to that… nope… just can’t.
A past commander-in-chief speaks out…
When a love him or hate him elephant former prez… usually most elephants stand on the love him side of things while most donkeys tend to hate his ass… one George W. Bush… warns about Trumpty Dumpty’s worldview of things and says they are a vision that will take America into “isolationism, nativism and protectionism” and then lambastes the son of bitch… without ever using his name…. ya’ll know something that has seldom been ever seen in American politics is taking place… at least as far as I can ever recall.
The strong smack down by the elephant’s last sitting prez, who will not even essentially give Trumpty a “howdy do” forget about a very usable, valuable and needed endorsement for the presidency came in Cincinnati where Georgie Porgy was trying to raise some big bucks for Sen. Rob Portman reelection.
Bush’s words comes in the aftermath of the shit that Trumpty laid at the feet of the parents of Capt. Humayun Khan, a Muslim-American soldier who died in Iraq that was coupled with words, that let’s say was not especially sympathetic or kind to their faith… being Muslims. The fact is that when Georgie was the prez he… in a show of his beliefs (morals?) took a stance that was at very big odds against the elephant party…. was a strong defender of Muslim Americans as well as a huge proponent of immigration reform. In fact, his stance is still at great odds against the elephants even to this very day.
Former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell told media sources that “It was an interesting exercise of statecraft. No one could say he directly spoke in attack mode against Donald Trump. Neither could anybody miss the fact that he thought there were some cutting-edge issues that Trump is advancing that need to be scrutinized and debated.”
And, all along we all thought George Bush the 2nd was the dumbass one… boy was we wrong… well kinda wrong on some stuff anyway. Maybe he weren’t the pick of the litter but he sure did have some smarts many peeps never gave him credit for.
Like… did ya ever hear how he parlayed $606,302 and a 1.8% interest in the Texas Rangers into about an almost 12% interest in the team and a return of almost $15 million or an almost 2500% profit on his investment… and… thereby, financed his election into the governorship of Texas?
I’ve hinted at this before… and I actually published this in an article on the now defunct website Informative Sports that was titled “Texas Rangers’ Hicks’ Ponzi Scheme.” Maybe now’s the time to show you one side of the wily nature of Bush the Second… and a real big fucking reason why I am not a real big fan of Georgie Porgy, and, why I also think most of MLB’s owners are schmucks who care little to nothing about baseball but are all about how much money they can stuff into their pockets from the sport.
The article was indeed about Tom Hicks a past owner of many major sport franchises, including the Texas Rangers, and, how he would drive each of the franchises into near failure but emerge (usually) with many hundreds of millions of dollars to the plus side of the ledger when all was said and done.
One part of the article centered around how he originally got control of the Texas Rangers and Georgie the Second’s role in the entire deal…
This is that excerpt from the Hicks article…
In 1988, George W. Bush, Fort Worth financier Richard E. Rainwater and Rainwater’s associate, Edward “Rusty” Rose, led a team that purchased the Texas Rangers for $86 million. The Rangers at the time played in an old minor league stadium that was without any amenities such as luxury suites that helped a stadium create revenue. The new owners, therefore, threatened to move the Rangers out of Arlington, Texas. The threat inspired the city to put forth a deal that was to help finance a new stadium by raising $135 million through a local sales tax increase. The owners themselves were to put up another $50 million. However, the owners effectively never paid a dime because to raise their share of the stadium funding the owners placed a one-dollar surcharge on each ticket sold to Ranger games.
On Jan. 19, 1991, the citizens of Arlington voted two-to-one to approve a sales-tax increase to build a new ballpark. The result of the overall deal that the City of Arlington gave to the Bush/Rainwater/Rose ownership team was more than $200 million in public assistance to finance the building of the ballpark in Arlington with the added benefit that all profits from the new stadium went to the owners: the Bush, Rainwater and Rose, et. al.
The stadium’s lease was a typical example of how the city of Arlington benefited the Bush ownership team. In The Buying of the President 2000 (Avon), by Charles Lewis says, “The stadium’s lease is a case in point. Unlike an apartment tenant, the rent that the team’s owners pay is applied toward purchasing the stadium. The maximum yearly rent and maintenance fees for the Rangers are $5 million; the total purchase price for the Ballpark at Arlington is $60 million. Thus, after 12 years the owners will have bought the stadium for less than half of what taxpayers spent on it.”
But the Bush team also put together another very lucrative deal that profited themselves and left the taxpayers of Arlington with nil. They brought the land that surrounded the new stadium.
The city of Arlington created a separate corporation, the Arlington Sports Facilities Development Authority, to manage construction of the new stadium. The new corporation then, using the city’s authority, seized land around the footprint of the stadium for the purpose of “parking and future development”.
According to papers obtained by Lewis and The Center for Public Integrity, the owners, (Bush, et al), would identify the land they wanted to acquire. Then one of the minority Rangers’ owners, who happened to be a realtor, would offer to purchase the land for prices he, himself, set. These prices were well below what the owners believed their land was worth. However, if the landowners refused to sell their property then the Arlington Sports Facilities Development Authority had the right, per order of the city of Arlington, to take the land and then allow the courts to determine the price.
Some of the owners that were forced to sell their land eventually sued and won settlements that totaled $11 million that were paid after much delay by the Bush ownership team. But the payment of the settlement was not paid by the then present owners of the team but by the owner who brought the team from the Bush ownership team, Tom Hicks.
Bush has always professed ignorance of the shady land grab but in October 1990, he casually said to a reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram: “The idea of making a land play, absolutely, to plunk the field down in the middle of a big piece of land, that’s kind of always been the strategy.”
The Buying of the President 2000, (said) that the final payoff for Bush and Rainwater came when after Bush was elected governor of Texas, “Bush put his all of his assets into a blind trust, with one notable exception: his stake in the Rangers. (Former Rangers’ president, Tom) Schieffer kept Bush apprised of the owner’s efforts to sell the team to Thomas O. Hicks, the chairman of Hicks, Muse, Tate and Furst, Inc., a firm that specializes in leveraged buyouts and until recently owned AMFM, Inc., the nation’s largest chain of radio stations. Hicks and employees of his companies are Bush’s No. 4 career patron, having given him at least $290,400.
In 1998, Hicks helped provide Bush with an even greater windfall. He bought the Texas Rangers for $250 million, three times what Bush and his partners had paid 10 years earlier. The new stadium and the real estate around it greatly boosted the final sale price. And, since his partners had upped Bush’s stake in the team from 1.8 to 11.8 percent, his cut from the proceeds of the sale was $14.9 million, a 25-fold return on his investment of $606,302. Rainwater, who had put far more money into the team than Bush, made $25 million.”
Essentially through that land grab and the felonious profits realized, in some minds at least… and… the eventual sale of the MLB team, the Texas Rangers, Bushie II was able to finance and finagle his way into buying (OK, OK… getting his ass elected) the governorship of Texas.
Maybe he sometimes did seem to be a reckless and sometimes big doofus dumbass who seemed as if he couldn’t find his way out of a paper bag with a pair of sharp scissors but he also had a habit of seemingly landing softly and usually ahead of the game when he decided the time was right to walk away from the scene of the crime.
Did ya ever think about this…
The Bamster is our first Black prez… didja ever think about if he coulda picked anyone to run as his Veep who he would have really taken? Still think it would have been Joe Biden? No matter how things played out… which all in all old Joe t’weren’t the worst pick that coulda been picked…. but… does the Bamster take Biden or… ???
Just some shit that wanders through my gray matter now and again…
Shots fired at the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Ellis County which is just about 20 miles or so outside of Dallas. Ovilla officers responded and as they got to the scene their body cams caught footage of a dude clad only in his underpants and sneaks crying and in a boozed filled tirade telling the cops… among other things… “Cause my boys are getting killed in Dallas… the black coon start killing my boys.” His boys were the cops, who just six days earlier, were murdered by a Black sniper while at a demonstration in Dallas over another Black person being killed by another cop.
The Ovilla cops slapped the steel metal bracelets on William Cox until a sheriff’s deputy showed up.
Long story short… after he tearfully said he was under a lot of “stress’ and admitted that hen did what he did, Cox was shitcanned from his cop’s job… rightfully so… but… will not face any charges for any of the shit that he did.
Initially, he actually was charged with a “deadly conduct charge” but after the church’s pastor said he believed it was advisable not to press charges, he was released.
When asked by media peeps, Ellis County Sheriff Johnny Brown told the Waxahachie paper. “The complainant dropped the charges. I have nothing to say about it.”
Ellis County District Attorney Patrick Wilson is conducting his own investigation into the incident.
Whoa, whoa, whoa… and I am not trying out for some be-bop, doo-wop singing group here… but…whoa, whoa, whoa… this cop… or ex-cop as the case may be… is not facing charges?
The pastor thinks it “advisable” not press charges? No fucking way! besides what the hell is this “advisable” shit anyway? Whose advice is being considered?
At least he was fired. Because he is truly unfucking fit to be a cop… he has no excuse for getting drunk and then getting naked and shooting at any building… forget that it was a damn church. He has no idea who could be in that building… the church. Luckily no was injured but the consequence of this drunk and asinine behavior could have caused a tragedy… a very serious fucking damn sad tragedy. And, who knows what the hell could have followed that if that tragedy had happened and say some child was left dead because of his thoughtless stupid dumbass behavior. Ya got stress? Go see a doctor…. a shrink… even a pastor. Hell, your ass was already at a damn church. So, walk your ass in and say I need to talk to someone. Just make sure ya leave the damn gun in the car.
He is unfucking fit to be a cop anywhere… at any time. And having a gun? Take that fucking weapon away from him. Because, he obviously knows nothing about responsibly using the damn thing.
BUT… above all? He needs to have his ass arrested for a multitude of charges… least of which should be the endangerment of the safety of the public.
Here’s hoping District Attorney Patrick Wilson sees fit to bring charges when his investigation is all said and done.
One more time… peeps need to be punished… they need to face consequences for the wrong stuff they do. When laws are broken… and I ain’t no law enforcement officer, but, off the top of my head, I can probably come up with maybe four or five charges Cox could have been given. He needs to face at least one of them charges in a court of law and then hopefully upon being convicted be given some jail time… nothing bullshit either… jail fucking time. When more and more people are given time in a real jail eventually maybe other people might think before they go ahead and do some dumb serious ass shit that could wind up with some potentially serious ass consequences.
Here’s hoping… any ways.
Some stuff I am not sorry about…
Ya’ll remember Dylan Roof? If not let me refresh your memory… Roof is the hate-spewing racist punk who murdered nine black parishioners in a Charleston church on June 17… murdered them after they welcomed him into their congregation and prayed together.
He’s in Charleston County Detention Center in South Carolina until his trial is resolved… and he’s back in the news…
Seems he was taking a shower… a shower that was supposed to be by his own ass while all the other prisoners were locked in their cells. Only some dude… one Dwayne Stafford… wasn’t in his cell and somehow got past the guards and got into the shower and punched out Roof… a couple or three times punched him out guards separated them.
Seems a lot of folks all over the country now see good old Dwayne as some sort of vigilante hero type of dude… so much so that someone… or someones… has set up a donation page and then posted it on Twitter with a link back to the
jail’s online account system, where supporters can deposit money in Dwayne Stafford’s commissary account.
And surprise, surprise, surprise…
Dwayne who has been in jail for the last 18 months awaiting resolution of his own case… first-degree assault and strong arm robbery charges… was suddenly freed after bond of $100,000 was posted. One day after he punched out Roof’s lights.
Now, I doubt his donations suddenly went through the “roof” and he was able to post his own bond, but, hell ya never know. Still… I’m guessing some dude or dudette said, “Hell, I am giving this dude a get out of jail free card for his simply audaciously superlative righteous act.
And, after he, or she, posted the bond thought… the mutherfucker better not run and cost me my $100,000.
Some stuff I am not sorry about…
I’m not exactly sure how this happened… I have read various and different scenarios… but… the bottom line is that George Zimmerman… remember that puke face? The dude who shot Trayvon Martin? Shot him dead after he was told by a police dispatcher… a duly authorized police rep… to back the fuck off and let cops do their job and check it all out? Yeah that dickhead son of a bitch. Any ways… he supposedly told some one he was the guy that shot Trayvon and got his clock rang for divulging that info…
Regardless of why he got his lights punched out… can’t say I’m sorry it happened…
Another thousand words…
This week’s gratuitous pictures…
