Guilt of being alive is heavy… WTF 6/22

trumpty the winner

Living and dying…  two facts of life no matter how you toss the dice. Then there is the guilt that sometimes is associated with being among the living while others are forever gone from this life. That guilt? Sometimes it is there, more than many would like to admit aloud…

There also is the guilt of the guilty… pure and simple… guilty of being asinine fools and sometimes just asinine assholes…

Guilt… its shadows and forms… is this week’s what the fuck…

The guilt of being alive is heavy…

joe1Patience Carter was shot while she was at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando… she was shot moments before she and two friends were about to leave the club… one woman was her best friend Tiara Parker, and the other was Parker’s cousin, Akyra Murray.

They were leaving to catch a ride that Patience had called… it was then that Omar Mateen came into the club with his weapon firing away.  Murray took a shot from the murderer’s assault rifle into her arm… Carter took a bullet to her stomach…patience

The three managed to get into a rest room and tried to hide from being targeted and receiving any more personal carnage happening to their bodies…

After the terrorist was eliminated and first responders were able to reach the women in hiding… Akyra Murray was dead…  Patience Carter was rushed to a hospital for treatment…

Then… for some crazy ass reason… messages began appearing on various social media outlets… messages that were saying Patience  was an actor… and that maybe the slaughter inside of Pulse was all a very effective but staged event. There were blurbs that stated Patience was a crisis actor… and… that she wasn’t even at the club when all the shit went down.

It appears it was all started with this ignorant and absurd post…

“There she is. On Fox Fucking news. On Fox Fucking news. There she is. Once again, the Fucking bullshit they are shoving down people’s throats. We need to arrest all these people. This has gone way to (sic) far. They have pulled this out too many times. There has to be change. There’s no way they can use this event. This is faked. This is staged. They are using actors. There is no doubt about it. This is 100% bullshit.”

Another post soon appeared that claimed they had evidence she was in Instagram posting a photograph. That poster said the photo was proof that Patience Carter couldn’t have been at the terrorist attack… the photo allegedly showed that Carter had posted to Instagram on June 12 at 3:13 am … after she was supposed to have been shot had been shot.

The photo was of Carter and it was showing her at the club… problem was the time stamp on the photo was manipulated… played with… the stamp was changed so that it appeared it was taken after the shooting and she looked OK. She was OK because it was taken BEFORE the murders started t o go down…

Snopes debunked it all…snopes

OR… maybe Snopes is in on the bullshit too? Like Fox? Like the hospital where she was treated and where there was a picture of her taken and published all over the entire damn world… that showed her in a painful grimace of hurt… of physical and psychological; deep emotional pain and of maybe even some guilt and shame mixed in with her sorrow… a sorrow of a lost new found friend and countless of other of just encountered kindred souls… shame and guilt because she is still alive and with the living and others are not…

But I wanna know what the hell is wrong with some peeps? With all these peeps who gotta go on these media outlets and post their bullshit… the real and only bullshit here that there is…

This shit happened after Newtown, also…

People going around saying it was all faked… that it was some type of conspiracy… a government conspiracy to do what I’m not really sure. To save their guns?  To prove the government is trying to hoodwink us all? To trap us all somehow for some deep devious, despicable, nefarious purposes?

And… remember… this comes from a dude who has claimed that the government and its reps have lied to us often and many times with some very deleterious and resounding affects. Not only presently but often times in our historical past. I have written in the past… here in this column’s pages… on this website… as well as other forums… that the government is a bunch of lying mutherfuckers who have spread bullshitter untruths about some very serious situations… from oil spills that are horrendous and tragically damaging to the environment as well as the people living in the areas effected… to the untruths they spread about why we still need to go to wars all over this planet….  as well as way back to the cover ups of murderous and illegal actions in places like Vietnam… to the real truths about how those who came to what is now America and how they stole… they lied…at time raped and pillaged… imprisoned folks illegally, and, yes, they even murdered… sometimes murdered in great numbers all in the name of settling this land we now call our own… our home… our America.

Orlando surviors speak to media
Orlando surviors speak to media

Still… I ask… when you see the for real instances occurring as they happen… the blood… the gore… the turmoil… the everything that is there before your eyes that words can’t ever fully describe… where does the need come for anyone to say it is all untrue? It is a fabrication? It is a cover-up? A conspiracy?

I mean what real pleasure…what sense of accomplishment …do they get from trying to expose something that ain’t? To expose it from the fact that these real and very horrible tragedies have happened to some very real and innocent people? People that now reside in the minds and memories of the survivors… and their families and friends. Minds and memories of real people forever … memories that will never ever go away… the beautiful, the peaceful and serene wonderful memories… as well as the memories of hurt, pain and tragic reality of the event that stole the loved one away. Because, if the truth be told, no matter how much counseling or treatment these folks receive… no matter how much time will elapse… these memories will never elude the canyons of their minds… there is never a place for them to ever be stowed deep away for forever and ever … to ever hide them…

Yet… these pukes come out and spread their untruths; their lies; their own version of the “truth” that is the real and only bullshit that is being put out for the entire world to envision. To this very day these so-called truthers will approach some relative of one of the deceased… the murdered… Newtown victims and start demanding the truth… the real skinny… that it was all a lie; that the person’s loved one was never murdered and that they now need to come clean… to tell the truth.

I want to know why? For what purpose?

I just don’t understand… and maybe for that I should be grateful… maybe somehow that shows that maybe I ain’t as crazy as I sometimes believe myself to be after all.

But… in answer to all the bullshit… the real bullshit surrounding this tragedy that was being purported on social media venues… Patience posted a real… a for genuine… Instagram photo that shows her wounded leg… in a cast… as she sits in a wheelchair… And, she included these words… “Thank you to all the skeptics that believe my pain isn’t real, it’s your outrageous insensitivity that makes me want to heal even faster, and grow even stronger.”

Patience Carter wrote a poem that tells of her guilt… her shame… where there really should be none… but… somehow… for some reason…it happens… its survivor’s remorse…

“The guilt of feeling grateful to be alive is heavy.

Wanting to smile about surviving but not sure if the people around you are ready,

as the world mourns the victims killed and viciously slain,

I feel guilty about screaming about my legs and pain…Patience

Because I could feel nothing

Like the other 49, who weren’t so lucky to feel this pain of mine.

I never thought in a million years that this could happen.

I never thought in a million years that my eyes could witness something so tragic.

Looking at the souls leaving the bodies of individuals.

Looking at the killer’s machine gun throughout my right peripheral.

Looking at the blood and debris covered on everyone’s faces.

Looking at the gunman’s feet under the stall as he paces.

The guilt of feeling lucky to be alive is heavy,

it’s like the weight of the oceans walls crushing uncontrolled by levies.

It’s like being drug through the grass with a shattered leg and thrown in the back of a Chevy.

Being rushed to the hospital and told you’re going to make it,

when you laid beside individuals whose lives were brutally taken.

The guilt of being alive is heavy.”

Second Amendment blues gots me again…

I found this op-ed piece just this morning (6/22) in the NYDN… it is an interesting piece on the true meaning…. well, what the writer believes is the true meaning or intent… of the arguably most argued about part of the constitution… yep… the old Second Amendment blues gots me again…

First he restates the Amendment…  “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

He takes a discourse that says essentially the forefathers (cough-cough)…convention-web

Sorry… but sometimes something kinda gets stuck in my craw when I say that hackneyed word forefathers… I mean… ah what the fuck… that’s another argument for another time… but… still… who the hell forefathers were they really? Think about that…

Any way… the writer… who by the by is Saul Cornell who is the Paul and Diane Guenther Chair in American History at Fordham University… then offers the thesis that Gun-rights advocates need to admit that the Founders were fine with gun confiscation, among other things. He says that the whole idea that every Tom Dick and Harry, Jane, Sue and Sally being armed and carrying in public was never the true intent of the peeps who wrote up the Second Amendment and he has some interesting thoughts of what was going down among those folks who were living in the colonies/states back then about guns and folks having guns… and I won’t get into whether he is right or wrong mainly because I don’t know enough about the kinda shit that might of been going on back then… he’s the damn historian not me. And, while l consider myself relatively well read and knowledgeable, a lot of my readings never dwelt that deeply on the sociological/historical aspect of life and laws that occurred back then. Plus, he points out some of the shit they did back then in the pre-constitution days (and after for that fact) actually violated things like fairness and due process and illegal search and seizure that we sometimes take for granted and are probably why there are these Amendments called the 4th, the 5th and the 14th Amendments. It’s an interesting and provocative read… ya’ll should check it out…  http://www.nydailynews.com/opinion/saul-cornell-amendment-imagination-article-1.2682637

So…then what the hell am I rambling on about and babbling on for?

This…

Early on in hi op-ed he also says this…

“In the period between 1968 and 2015, more Americans have died as a result of gun violence than perished in all of America’s wars combined.”

Fucking grok that… think about that… seriously… slowly… and… resolutely… let it sink into your grey matter and permeate very thought process you have…

Between 1968 and 2015… a little less than half a century… 50 damn fucking years… more Americans… of We The Peoples… have been eliminated from this earth… because of guns… than bramhall-world-notein all of America’s wars combined…

Grok that word “all”….

That is an amazing, and frankly an inconceivable, thought and fact…

He directly follows up that little ditty with this…

“Can anyone honestly say that our current gun policies are promoting the “security of a free state”?

WELL?

Can someone… anyone… upon seriously reflection of what he says about guns and the taking of American lives… honestly say our damn fucking gun laws are really protecting the asses of We The People? Really securing the reality of a free fucking state… ???

Racism, classism, discrimination against anyone not well to do…  is alive & well in Florida…

Assistant State Attorney Kenneth Lewis was practicing all of these things when he said some sad ass and nasty shit on Facebook… which by the by was in direct violation of his own office’s social media policy… less than eight hours after the Orlando murderer did his bloody and deadly act of murdering 49 and wounding countless others… who some of might still perish from their injuries. Everyone who got wounded is still not out of the woods.

The sick post appeared on Lewis’ account at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, less than eight hours after a terrorist stormed the city’s Pulse nightclub and slaughtered 49 people inside.

Victims... Pulse Orlando
Victims… Pulse Orlando

As folks were still trying to find missing loved ones, take care of those wounded and get down to the hard task of giving the asshole said… among many other disgusting and despicable things…

“Downtown Orlando has no bottom. The entire city should be leveled. It is void of a single redeeming quality… It is a melting pot of 3rd world miscreants and ghetto thugs… It is void of culture. If you live down there you do it at your own risk and at your own peril. If you go down there after dark there is seriously something wrong with you.”

He also praised Disney World in a sick and macabre manner… Disney World, that place where they don’t post signs that tell tourists that there are people eating gators in the waters that just might grab a child who might be wading in the water…

“Disney does everything in its power to shield visitors of Disney from its northern blight. That doesn’t change reality.Disney may be the happiest place on earth but Orlando is a national embarrassment.”

But this ain’t nothing new for the schmuck… In 2014 he was “temporarily reassigned” when he said…

“Happy Mothers day to all the crack hoes out there. It’s never too late to tie your tubes, clean up your life and make a difference to someone out there that deserves a better mother.”

And h even took a shot at one of the Supremes… when he posted this Facebook slop next to a picture of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonya Sotomayor…

“Reason enough why no country should ever engage in the practice of Affirmative Action again. This could be the result. Where would she be if she didn’t hit the quote lottery? Here’s a hint: ‘Would you like to supersize that sir?'”

And sad to say he ain’t alone of those sitting on benches all over America…

Simply put… these people need to be stripped of their judgeship’s and then go away and leave us all alone… go off someplace and just wait for old age to end your time spreading your bullshit around in our society…

Speaking of stupid-ass judges…

Remember that ex-Stanford dude… the rapist… the one who got only six months for violently assaulting and sexually abusing a young woman?  Wh0 claimed : But I was drunk…

And, then the asshole judge who doled out the sentence and essentially said that he believed the “young man” and didn’t want to ruin his life?

Forget about the woman he raped and the life he ruined forever…

So, the judge only gave him the six months and probation?ap_772246261206

He was back in the news again… the Judge… the Dishonorable Judge Aaron Pesky

The rapist and his family is also but fuck them I ain’t giving them the press except to let ya’ll know that they came out with a Facebook page that says the rapist should have his sentence revoked and that the woman who got raped is… well… use your imagination about what they say about her…

If ya’ll got the time go to Facebook and complain vehemently about that page… tell them to take it down…

Anyway… the judge said,  “… there is less moral culpability attached to the defendant who is legally intoxicated… I mean, I take him at his word that, subjectively, that’s his version of events. The jury, obviously found it not to be the sequence of events.”

Ya’ll? …  I wanna tell ya’ll this very seriously… there is no damn excuse for ever beating on, assaulting and raping any one. Ever. And, being drunk or stoned or whatever is not an  acceptable excuse… EVER!

No one forced Brock Stevens to get so damn fucked up… no one pointed a gun to his head and said: Drink this until your stewed to the gills and then go rape that woman. He chose to drink… he chose to get fucked up… and… he, therefore, damn well chose to attack, assault and rape that woman.

Brock Stevens is luckier than shit to get the sentence he did… so, fuck him and his family and their brought and paid for Judge Pesky

One more time: Being drunk is not an excuse for committing crimes against society…

EVER…

 Where is the damn change?

Did ya’ll know that during the Game 7 NBA finals that two so-called fans got into a fight and one fell from the second to the first deck just after the game ended?

Reports say the man is in the hospital in critical-but-stable condition and that no other details were available… that usually means he’ll live but how he will live could be another question…

All I can say is this…

What goes on in people’s hearts? What goes on in their minds?

America and GunsWith that in mind… these are just some of the headlines from Monday morning’s edition of the New York Daily News…

Brooklyn man dies from stabbing after confrontation with estranged wife…

Cops nab suspect in slashing at Columbus Circle station

Chicago boy, 17, shot dead with assault rifle outside Catholic church during Mass

Bronx woman stabs boyfriend to death

Florida gun show loaded with buyers even as funerals continue for Orlando massacre victims

Man shot dead by cops after pointing gun at police outside Bronx housing complex

Man abusing dog on Staten Island knifes on passerby trying to intervene

Woman slashed after man tried raping her in Brooklyn

Alejandro ‘Jano’ Fuentes, singer on Mexican ‘The Voice,’ dies in Chicago after shooting

That’s almost 10 damn stories about violence… murder… rape… animal abuse… assorted mayhem and various other forms of stupidity and insanity…

So tell me…

What goes in our hearts that these things… these incidents happen with such regularity… that evil and destruction happen as not only as an everyday event but as a multiple events daily. Every single fucking day…

Why are we so broke inside as a society that we have to strike out constantly with violence and hate?change

A song was once wrote that said a change is gonna to come… it’s a beautiful song in some ways and in others it more a condemnation of a society that was a while back and in some ways still is.  Its message is a message of hope from 1964… by Sam Cooke… because he was tired of being denied service at places that had signs that said whites only… and the straw that broke his back and caused him to write the song was that one time he and his entourage were denied admission at a hotel that they had reservations because of their race.

change 2He got pissed… busted by the damn cops for raising holy hell over the overt act of racism.

The song eventually became an anthem for the Civil Rights movement… but it speaks against injustice for us all… it speaks to all times and all things that deny anybody the freedom to live and be truly free from any and all oppression for any reason what so ever… including being hit, spit upon, knifed, shot and any other form of violence imaginable…

I only got this… that change has been going on since 1964… now… when the hell is it finally gonna get its ass over here so we can begin to experience its results…

Somebody tell me when the hell that change is really finally gonna come… or…

… will it be too late before we realize the true reality of our situation?

See? Racist shit…

make america See that sign on the left? It is… or it was… real… recently real… very recently.

The name on it is some jackass who is running for Congressman from Tennessee…

Do I think all of Tennessee folks is racists?

Nope.. I don’t… but… I do believe there is still a fair amount of fools down there that are and damn well approved of that fucking bullshit billboard…

Chances of him getting elected are just about nil to never gonna happen… last time he ran for anything he got about .04% of the vote. Still… that means there are .04% of the Tennessee electorate who think like him… racist assholes.

Enough people raised a loud and vociferous hullabaloo about that billboard and it, and another one, are now removed…

Good…

It never should have ever seen the light of day…

Fucking racism is far from being eradicated… there is still a long road to hoe… still a long hot and weary road to be gone down… still a lot of thirsty boots that need will to be rested for awhile before there are no more dusty miles to be traveled…

Another thousand words…

  1. Joe–another post of the kind that only you can write.

I agree with your view of the “forefathers” (and foremothers as well). The first ten amendments to the constitution (including the second, the “right to bare arms” one) are the Bill of Rights. When it looked like the original version of the constitution was too weak on rights to get adopted, these amendments were added to placate many with reservations about rights.

It took both conservatives and progressives to get the constitution written and then to come up with the Bill of Rights. Many compromises were made by both sides during the process. I hardly think that there was any one thought held by any of the forefathers or foremothers. I laugh at any statement to the effect that “Our forefathers thought . . . . ” Well, some of them maybe did, but others almost certainly did not.

My own opinion is that guns are much too prevalent in our society–as are drugs (and other things such as tobacco and alcohol). Society has a right, even a responsibility, to try to control these things to protect itself and its people. (There is some control of alcohol, and only recently has control of tobacco come to us.)

But the real issue here is that members of a society have the responsibility to act with respect and concern for other members of the society. In the case of guns, this has not been the case. Failing to take the necessary action (or even worse, defending it) is irresponsible. The NRA, for example, proudly points to their “extensive” investment in gun training and responsibility. Whether they are sincere or not is debatable, but it is clear that their efforts along this line are ineffective.

Social laws are just as inexorable as physical laws. When Wiley Coyote walks off the edge of a cliff, he doesn’t fall until he looks down. We understand that this is nonsense. But when a society allows guns to run rampant, it is very difficult for many to see the consequences. Either the problem will be controlled or the society will collapse. I hope the latter is not to be our fate.
