WTF 10/14: Mercy and Justice…

crossing borders

Mercy, mercy, mercy…

Got stuff on my mind that I need to air out and it’s coming out come hell or high water… it starts as a manifesto type of warning to ya’ll… and… then gets into stuff like justice, mercy… and…

… it starts right here and now…

Fear itself…

joe1People go around readings rags like the National Enquirer… Star… even newspapers like the NYDN with all their gossip bullshit and what not and people take a lot of the stuff they print as the word!Palin

I mean, every store I walk into has got the Enquirer and rags of that ilk on its newsstands at almost every cash register in most grocery stores… someone has got to be buying this stuff. This is how they get their information about the country and the world? And, then these are the peeps that go vote???!! No wonder we have the politicians in office that we do.

These peeps believe the first thing they read… this political candidate did this… said that… it’s all wrapped up in sensationalism… a lot of half truths… mostly innuendo… and they take it as the truth and then vote the politician idjits into, or out of, office…hillary

So, I gots a warning for ya’ll…

Be very afraid… Trump could win this upcoming prez election…

I mean… we already elected an actor to be our president… which, by the by ,was probably the best acting job the dude ever did in his life… played the hell out of that role, he did…

Just be afraid is all I gots to say…

The elephants are in disarray and that’s just the opening Trump needs to jump in and then spout out his litany of catch phrases and lynchpin words that capture the weak-kneed and fetid minds and imaginations of a fearful populace that think the reasons they ain’t got a pot to piss in nor a window to throw it out of is because of all them damn immigrants and foreigners and stupid ass liberal politicians who with a hand full of gimme and a mouth full of much obliged lie to us all and just wanna take whatever payoffs they can get from whomever is giving it out and tell us all it’s for our own damn good.

The problem is that Trump is a good one for saying he’s got all the answers and mouthing out stuff that sounds real damn good but very short on how he intends to implement any of it…

He’s also very short on knowing what the hell is going on in the world and connecting the dots of what he says and with the dots of what is reality… often falling back on the lame-assed catch phrase… “That’s a gotcha question…”

He uses his bluster and says he is talking the real talk that peeps need, and want, to hear but has yet to provide anything substantive in support of that talk… when you listen to what he says he just repeats himself over and over and over and never really says anything or answers any questions asked of him.

In fact, he is exactly the type of candidate that he rails against and that he is supposedly running against… only he is a master showman of “watch this hand not that hand prestidigitation bullshit” as he babbles on and on…  P. T. Barnum… the man behind the curtain…  the Wizard of Odd… that when it all comes down to the nitty gritty of it… he knows nothing and really is nothing more than a bunch of words and empty promises with no real vision or a way to fulfill anything that he promises.

But, believe this… there are enough folks out there who will believe his so-called anti-PC language and what he says because they believe he speaks for them… the so-called little peeps… the unwashed masses who are clamoring for ways out of the financial morass they all are stuck in and for someone to blame it all on… just like another dude did in 1930’s Germany…

Yep… he is that damn dangerous… this Donald Trump… with his lies and his false promises that blames everything on anyone that may look or seem different… that maybe ain’t a real American… like maybe the Bamster and all that birther bullshit he insists is real… or… even if they are born in the USA… still aren’t 100% American deep down inside.trump slurs

It’s sad to say but people need scapegoats for what is wrong in this world. People don’t really want, or even like, the truth. People don’t want to hear… that what is wrong with America is America itself… and… that America is more and more all about greed and wealth and getting what supposedly is yours. The entire image of America being the land of opportunity and “ya’ll just gotta pull yourself up by your bootstraps and ya’ll can become a success story” is nothing more than a mirage… another empty promise for the majority of us.

An empty promise that was made way before there ever was Donald Trump…

Because, the reality is that the gap between the 1% and the rest of us all is just getting bigger by each and every day… and… yet, we all keep believing it is true… that just  having a chance and doing some hard work will get ya out of your hole, while, the truth is that no matter what is done… the hole… for most middle class and working class folks, as well as those who we call impoverished… that hole we are all in… is just getting bigger and bigger and deeper and deeper.

And, the truth… that many are all too blind to see… is that them that gots intends to get even more to have and to hold through lies and obfuscations and by pitting all of us against one another so that we keep on blaming and fighting amongst ourselves and never really get anywhere except keeping our own selves down.1 per cent 1

Hell… ya’ll don’t think the “man” in control loves to see crime in workign class neighborhoods… killings and robberies and the such… poor folk stealing and robbing from other poor folk… or the middle class sneering at the working class who be sneering right back at the middle class for keeping them from on moving on up and then both hating on the poorest of the poor folk for wanting to get up from under the thumb and bootprints of everyone else… or… for one minority to be against another minority… forget the white and black shit that still exists in this country nigh onto how many years of civil rights having been supposedly gained for us one and all…

And, through all of this here comes Trump blaring and trumpeting his way into the elephant race for the prez nomination as well as into our lives… spouting out words of banality… tinted and tainted with racism and chauvinism of all types… anti-Muslim… anti Mexican… anti-black… anti-woman…

And, the 1% loves to see a person like Trump because he will keep us all in disarray while the profits keep on growing and rolling into his coffers.

The truth is that the 1% controls all the money and they really are who controls what all gets done in America no matter who gets elected… and ya’ll can believe or not believe that, but, it’s the truth… the unvarnished truth.  It’s the 1% who pulls the strings to one extreme or the other on the puppets who pretend to make the laws that govern us all… both the elephants and the donkeys.wealth

And  this is where Trump is strongest…  he plays right into the 1% hands… speaking words of dissension and distrust all in the name of being anti-political correct and anti-status quo and anti- establishment dressed as an outsider… someone not of the presnt good old boy political system. Trump speaks in the tongue of a man who would change it all for the benefit of the people who are the real America. He speaks his words and many of the those, who been without, believe he is for them when all he is doing is working their fears by using words that sound  to them like… “Hey this man speaks some common sense… he speaks for me… ’bout time we heard someone speaking some language we all can understand and get behind.  He ain’t like them other lieing money grubbing highfaluting other politicians… he thinks like me.”

But, if you really listen to what Trump says… behind his false promise and negative words… behind his bravado of making America strong again… he is a person who tears down rather than is a builder or a restorer of what supposedly was what once made America great.

All I gots to say to ya’ll… be afraid… very afraid…

Trump could win the prez election if someone doesn’t step up and start really speaking for we the people… the poor…  the workers… and… yeah, even those guys and gals in their grey flannel suits (women wear suits, too, ya know) who go to their offices and have their pleasant manicured lawns and families in dear old suburbia…

We all need a voice out of the wilderness that we all be in but we need a voice that is not beholden to the 1% the behind the scenes string pullers… we need a modern day Mr. Deeds who will go to Washington and stand up to the mega-corporations and big businesses and tell them it’s time to pitch in and do a lot more than the token charitable bullshit they presently do.

Yes, it is time to take back America…as if we really had it… and… it’s time to make America strong and they… the 1%… have the resources to really do it and that means taking less in profits and supplying more in giving back to the people who really are the source of their big profits and the real backbone of America. We need a peros nwho the balls, or cherries, big enough to stand up to the 1%… to change America… not back to what it was but to a new future and what it can be… a real coutnry of… for… and… by the people… us people.

It ain’t socialism or communism rather it is just the right thing to do…

Moving on… Who was the first immigrant????

According to a recent editorial in the NYDN… On Monday (10/12), America celebrated “…the first European immigrant, the man who started it all for this great country. He came from Genoa via Spain with the same kind of courage shown by today’s space explorers. We mark his navigational feat without a second thought, and remain pleased that every schoolchild in America knows not only his name but the names of his three ships. Or so they must.”

Ummm… did the NYDN forget about Leif… as in Leif Ericson?

In fact, did ya’ll know that Leif Erikson Day is an actual annual American observance which occurs on October 9th?

Statue of Leif Erikson in ReykjavÌk, Iceland
Statue of Leif Erikson in ReykjavÌk, Iceland

I won’t get into the controversies over whether we all should celebrate Cristóbal Colón day or the guy ya’ll might better know as Cristoforo Colombo… aka Christopher Columbus… about how he and subsequent European explorers and settlers treated Native Americans… how it is claimed that Columbus, was a so-called “dead white male of the worst variety” who was a slaver, a capitalist, and a murderer of tens of thousands… about how he only made his voyage due to motivations of greed… about how he brought, quite by accident, European imperialism to Americas… South and North… about how he  deserves little credit because good ole Leif had discovered the “new world” 500 years earlier… or… about how he introduced the New World to smallpox and diseases that the indigenous people were not conditioned to withstand.

Nope…  I won’t get into that stuff… not at all…

Hell… just go on the internet… type in the name… Christopher Columbus… and up pops stuff like… “8 Reasons to Hate Columbus Day”… or… “Columbus Day? True Legacy: Cruelty and Slavery.”

But… back to Leif…spongebob

Leif Erikson Day made its debut in the early 20th century too, and in 1954 Prez Ike proclaimed it to be a national day of observance… and… many people don’t even know about it… Leif Erikson Day.

Except, maybe, Spongebob Squarepants, who celebrates Leif’s day every year… without fail… along with some folks in some places called Wisconsin and Minnesota…

The quality of mercy…

Recently in the news… Seminole County Judge Jerri Collins… yep, that’s in the land of the sometimes very weird state of Florida… was captured on court room video berating a domestic violence victim for failing to appear at her alleged abuser’s trial and then sentenced the sobbing woman to jail.

The woman desperately apologizes and tries to tell the judge that her depression and anxiety was what kept out of court and having to face her abuser.

The judge says, “You think you’re going to have anxiety now? You haven’t even seen anxiety” … and then says… “I find you in contempt of court. I hereby sentence you to three days in the county jail.”

The woman pleads for leniency…

Judge says, “You disobeyed a court order, knowing that this was not going to turn out well for the state,” Collins said.judge in fl

The woman pleads… tells the judge that hse is homeless and “not in a good place right now”; that she’ll “… do anything … I have a 1-year-old son, and I’m trying to take care of him by myself. I’m begging you, please, please don’t,” she said.

The judge says…”Turn around. You should have showed up. I’ve already issued my order.”

I don’t tend to mince my words and I ain’t gonna start here… this bitch of a judge… is an asshole in my estimation… sorry… but, she is and there ain’t no other way to say it…

Yeah… maybe this woman did violate the letter of the law but is there no mercy to be extracted from the court? Is there no sense of who the victim is here and why she is a victim? About the brutality that she went through and her truthfulness of the real anxiety she felt from just thinking about appearing in court to face her tormentor? Instead, this judge thinks justice would be best served by sending the woman to some time in jail so she can think about her crimes and experience some “real anxiety.”  Because it was the woman’s  crimes… not appearing in court and causing a delay in the trial of the true criminal… that was the so very important issue in this situation that needed the judge so to send a message that under no circumstances will a court order by her ever be ignored or violated.

Guess, the judge never had the opportunity to read and study these words when she was in school…

The quality of mercy is not strain’d,
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest:
It blesseth him that gives and him that takes.

If she ever did read these words, then she never took them to heart or understood their true meaning…

Back in March of this year, Pope Frankie said in a sermon that those who judge are corrupted by rigidity… they think “…they (are) pure because they observed the law… but they did not know mercy.” Frankie added that “With such rigidity one cannot breathe.”

Safehouse of Seminole CEO Jeanne Gold told the media sources that she had approached the judge after that hearing and said that the victim should have been given community service, not jail time. She said she believed the judge went too far and that “There’s no…  absolutely nothing that I could think of that would be the reason to re-victimize this person by putting her in jail, and so I don’t understand where that thinking came from.” She also added that “I thought she will never ever call the police again. She’ll never look for help again. It’s so sad.”

An update to this story has the woman who was jailed being quoted as follows… “I’m doing better. I’m really thankful that people care… I broke the law and she has every right to do her job… I’m just taking it one day at a time, and there’s good days and bad days. I think after everything that’s happened I would most likely not call the police at all.”

Good job judge… if this woman gets her ass in a jam sometime down the line she is now loath to ask for any legal intervention of any kind.

Hope you sleep well at night… bitch.

Everybody’s Cryin Mercy…

I don’t believe the things I’m seein’
I’ve been wonderin’ ’bout some things I’ve heard
Everybody’s crying mercy
When they don’t know the meaning of the word

A bad enough situation
Is sure enough getting worse
Everybody’s crying justice
Just as soon as there’s business first

Toe to toe, touch and go
Give a cheer and get your own souvenir

Well you know the people running round in circles
Don’t know what they’re headed for
Everybody’s crying peace on earth
Just as soon as we win this war

Straight ahead, gotta knock em dead
So pack your kit, choose your own hypocrite

You don’t have to go to off-Broadway
To see something plain absurd
Everybody’s crying mercy
When they don’t know the meaning of the word

Nobody knows the meaning of the word

Trumped again…

TRUMP worthHow much moolah the Trumper got? He says over $10 bil… Forbes says about $4 bil… regardless… suffice it to say he gots lots of bucks… more than enough to pay for a political theme song..

So, why in the hell am I reading that Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler has demanded that the, at this moment, leading elephant presidential candidate… Donnie Trump… stop using the band’s signature song… “Dream On”… at campaign events?

That’s what a cease and desist order issued by Tyler’s lawyers that was obtained by the Associated Press says.

The order stipulates that the elephant frontrunner does “not have our client’s permission to use ‘Dream On'” because it “gives the false impression that he is connected with or endorses Mr. Trump’s presidential bid.”

Tyler, by the by, is actually a registered Republican… but one of his lawyers said that the order was not a political statement nor had anything to do with Trump himself but an issue that pertains to permission and copyright law.

Tyler asks Trump to stop using Aerosmith song
Tyler asks Trump to stop using Aerosmith song

And.. yeah..OK… ya’ll might say… “So big deal. He used a song without first clearing it with the rights holder… this is juyst a small potatoes issue.”

But, this is not a rarity with the Trumper. It seems he does this stealing of others literary, or, if you would, musical properties with reckless abandon…

Last month, R.E.M. founding member Mike Mills asked Trump to cease and desist from using the group’s classic song “It’s the End of the World As We Know It” at  campaign events.  Mills said, “Personally, I think the Orange Clown will do anything for attention. I hate giving it to him.”

R.E.M. lead man Michael Stipe went even further when he said, “Go fuck yourselves, the lot of you… you sad, attention-grabbing, power-hungry little men. Do not use our music or my voice for your moronic charade of a campaign.”

And back in June, Neil Young… the dude from groups such as Buffalo Springfield and Crosby Stills, Nash and Young… called out Trump when he used Young’s “Rockin’ In the Free World” hit without permission during the Orange Clown’s campaign kickoff event.

I like that description of the Pied Trumper… so, what the hell I’ll use it. just hope I don’t get no lawyers banging at my door next.

How much is too much?

There’s this Mexican restaurant, Don Chingon, in Park Place that is being called the home of the 30-pound burrito. Interesting thing about this burrito… eat it all and you get to be part owner of the place.

Now understand we are talking 30 pounds of tortilla, steak, chicken, pork, rice, beans, cheese and salsa.

Owner Victor Robey tells the NYDN that, “If you are going to eat a massive amount of food in a single sitting, you deserve real compensation. Some restaurants will put your name on the wall. We’ll give you the wall.”

Burrito... 30 lbs
Burrito… 30 lbs

Well… what he’ll give you may actually just be only a wall of the place because if you somehow are successful in devouring this humongous burrito whst he will give ya’ll is 10% of the business.

But, hell 10% of a going business that shows a profit and you don’t need to do anything for it? I’d take that.

But here’s the rules…

Any takers to the deal fork over $150 to enter, then must eat the burrito and down a ghost-pepper margarita in one hour. No bathroom breaks or puking allowed. AND… the rules also say that Don Chingon, or the owner, is not responsible for “death or illness” that might occur during the attempt to eat the gluttonous meal.

Wanna try it?

Head on over to 216 Flatbush Ave., Brooklyn.

But be warned… one would be glutton tried it and after 45 minutes or so had only gotten down about three pounds of the monstrous burrito… the owner said hell that was pretty damn good considering the dude had just ate about four meals worth of food in one sitting.

Oh…and remember this… the dude walked out less $150, a sore belly and about 17 pounds of leftovers.

This week’s grtauitous pictures…

  1. I saw that burrito place yesterday. I was over by Barclays and parked my car nearby. No one can eat that burrito. I’d love to see one of those professional eaters try, but I think even they will fail to eat a 30 pound burrito and drink a ghost pepper margarita. That’s a recipe for disaster.

  2. Yeah… you eat that much food you probably gonna get sick before you come anywhere near finishing it…

Now, if it were another kind of burrito I betcha there be more tokers… umm… I mean takers….
