WTF 9/30: Different people & different strokes

gop-coleslaw

Different folks and different strokes… they all may dance to different drummers but they all still gotta dance to the tune when the time comes to stand and be accountable…

As Sly Stone once said in his song… “Everyday People”…

Sometimes I’m right and I can be wrong
My own beliefs are in my song
The butcher, the banker, the drummer and then
Makes no difference what group I’m insly

I am everyday people, yeah yeah

There is a blue one who can’t accept the green one
For living with a fat one trying to be a skinny one
And different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on and scooby dooby doo

Oh sha sha we got to live together

I am no better and neither are you
We are the same whatever we do
You love me you hate me you know me and then
You can’t figure out the bag I’m in

I am everyday people, yeah yeah

There is a long hair that doesn’t like the short hair
For bein’ such a rich one that will not help the poor one
And different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on and scooby dooby doo

Oh sha sha we got to live together

There is a yellow one that won’t accept the black one
That won’t accept the red one that won’t accept the white one
And different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on and scooby dooby doo

I am everyday people…

Some peeps just never learn when…

joe1…to shut the fuck up…

And, some day someone is gonna shut this perpetual asshole up and I hate to say this… I really do… but I won’t feel at all sorry…not one least bit when they do…

Who I be talking about?

Naw… it ain‘t Rudy Kazootie this time…

But, that damn fool… George Zimmerman…

This photo was posted by Twitter user @SeriousSlav, who included the caption ‘Z-Man is a one man army,’ after initially appearing on George Zimmerman’s account, @TherealGeorgeZ.
This photo was posted by Twitter user @SeriousSlav, who included the caption ‘Z-Man is a one man army,’ after initially appearing on George Zimmerman’s account, @TherealGeorgeZ.

This past Sunday (9/27), he retweeted an image showing the corpse of Trayvon Martin… the black child he shot and killed without consequence three years ago. Some schmuck tweeted the photo… which was used as evidence in the trial that ended with Zimmerman’s acquittal… shows Martin’s body lying on grass as investigators stand over it… to him, adding a the words… “Z-Man is a one man army”, and, Zimmy the Zip just had to retweet the tweet.

Now most folks if they got away with murder would just sort of tend to fade into the background and try and keep the spotlight off’n themselves… but not this scum bucket. Nope…he just gotta keep twisting and turning and pulling on everybody’s tail. It’s as if he just wants to rile everyone up and spit in folks eyes. Zimmy wants the spotlight… “Hey look at me everybody I’m still here…and guess who ain’t. Ya’ll can go spit in the ocean for all I care.

The amazing part is he retweeted the original tweet to his 11,000 Twitter followers… naw… it ain’t so amazing now that I think about it… there’s at least 11,000 racists out there who have shit for their grey matter and no compassion for the deceased or their  still hurting loved ones just in the area surrounding the town I live.

Zimmerman’s retweet pissed off plenty of folks including,” rapper Talib Kweli who tweeted “George Zimmerman is online posting pics of Trayvon Martin’s dead body right now. Let that sink in America.  #blacklivesmatter

Eventually, Twitter got wind of the Zimmy tweet and took action to delte the tweet. However Zimmy’s, and the dipshit who tweeted the original tweet, accounts are still active.

Zimmy’s tweet is just a continuing saga of an inane and more than slightly unhinged program of posting stuff to bring attention unto himself that essentially attracts no one but other inane and unhinged sad sacks.

Zimmy tweet
Zimmy tweet

Posts like a recent one that has a picture of the Bamster with a message that states… “If I had a race baiting President, He would look like this.”

Or… just last month Zimmy replied to a critic on Twitter by writing, “We all know how it ended for the last moron that hit me. Give it a whirl cupcake.”

Then earlier this year, Zimmy said black Virginia murderer Vester Flanagan was “too much of a daisy to deal w/ racism”… he called Obama a “Racist,”… and… he painted a Confederate battle flag dedicated to an anti-Muslim Florida gun shop owner.

Also…

Since being acquitted of criminal charges in the homicide of Trayvon Martin in 2012, Zimmy the Zip has had  a series of run-ins with the police; and altercations with his estranged ex-wife, who said that he threatened her life in ;he was arrested for aggravated assault, battery, domestic violence and criminal mischief after he was said to have stuck a shotgun in a girlfriend’s face and last year  was arrested on an aggravated assault charge after throwing a wine bottle at a woman. George was prohibited from contacting the victim.

Draw your own conclusions about Zimmy’s behavior and whether he has all his marbles inside of the jar he calls his head.

So, sooner or later, if he keeps doing all his shit, some other unhinged nutcase on the other side of the coin is gonna track his ass down and that nutcase is gonna pop Zimmy’s ass out of this reality and into the next… and… though I ain’t privy to what reality follows this one… for some reason… whatever it is I don’t think it will be one where he is gonna be real happy with the welcome wagon that comes round to greet him… just saying he might be smelling some brimstone and feeling a tad overwrought from the tongues of flame nipping at his sorry ass.

Behind blue eyes…

“My mission every day is to fight for a smaller, less costly, and more accountable government. Over the last five years, our majority has advanced conservative reforms that will help our children and their children. I am proud of what we have accomplished.boehner

The first job of any Speaker is to protect this institution that we all love. It was my plan to only serve as Speaker until the end of last year, but I stayed on to provide continuity to the Republican Conference and the House. It is my view, however, that prolonged leadership turmoil would do irreparable damage to the institution. To that end, I will resign the Speakership and my seat in Congress on October 30.

Today, my heart is full with gratitude for my family, my colleagues, and the people of Ohio’s Eighth District. God bless this great country that has given me – the son of a bar owner from Cincinnati – the chance to serve.”

With those words, House Speaker John Boehner told members of the Republican Conference on Friday (9/25) that he was resigning from Congress at the end of October. His announcement comes one day after he brought in Pope Frankie to address Congress.

In his opening comments to Congress Frankie said… “Each son or daughter of a given country has a mission, a personal and social responsibility. Your own responsibility as members of Congress is to enable this country, by your legislative activity, to grow as a nation. You are the face of its people, their representatives. You are called to defend and preserve the dignity of your fellow citizens in the tireless and demanding pursuit of the common good, for this is the chief aim of all politics. A political society endures when it seeks, as a vocation, to satisfy common needs by stimulating the growth of all its members, especially those in situations of greater vulnerability or risk. Legislative activity is always based on care for the people. To this you have been invited, called and convened by those who elected you.” (My bold emphasis.)

Frankie later in his speech, said… “Politics is, instead, an expression of our compelling need to live as one, in order to build as one the greatest common good: that of a community which sacrifices particular interests in order to share, in justice and peace, its goods, its interests, its social life. I do not underestimate the difficulty that this involves, but I encourage you in this effort.”

I would add that a person elected by the people also needs to seek and speak the truth… regardless of how it affects certain goals and ends of the political base that the person may belong…

It is no secret I have never been a fan of John Boehner… but… I have always thought that the man was more to the middle of the road than some of the obstructions and roadblocks he promoted as the figurehead of the elephants in the House…

I have thought that he was mouthing stuff that the neocons and the tea partyers were forcing upon him…

… and… he all but out and out confirmed that my thoughts and beliefs were right on when on CBS’s “Face the Nation” Boehner went on to criticize some of his most radical colleagues, when he was asked for his feelings about the hopes and expectations to pass conservative legislation in a highly divided Congress…

“Absolutely, they’re unrealistic…The Bible says beware of false prophets, and there are people out there spreading noise about how much can get done. This whole notion that we’re going to shut down the government to get rid of Obamacare in 2013, that plan never had a chance. We got groups here in town, members of the House and Senate here in town, who whip people into a frenzy believing they can accomplish things they know … they know… are never going to happen.”boehner-fairies-512

And, throughout his appearance, Boehner repeatedly said he was frustrated by the elephant right wing which constantly undermined his efforts…  in fact… at one point he enumerated his accomplishments as Speaker but then said these were “all voted against by my most conservative members (because they weren’t) good enough.”

When he was asked about Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, a frequent critic of some of Boehner’s tactics and a cheerleader for government shutdowns, Boehner simply said: ‘I’ll refer you to my remark at a fundraiser I made in August in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.”

He was filmed for posterity calling Cruz a jackass…

Listen up all you buckaroos… peeps and folks… citizens and non-citizens… legals and illegals… here’s my word on Mr. Boehner…

If, he truly believed what he said on “Face the Nation” then he shoulda said a long time ago what he thought was the truth and had the balls to stand against his party’s right wing wingnuts… this idea… maybe even an ideology… that it’s my party, right or wrong, is pure bullshit. A politician has the responsibility to speak the truth. They rarely do these days… but… as an elected official of the people they need to rep the truth so that the people’s rights and needs are respected and fulfilled…Boehner 1

I refer you back to Pope Frankie’s words… go ahead… I’ll wait while you reread them…

Our politicians these days just can’t do what is right and that is so damn wrong on so many levels it’s.. well… its pathetic. Truth is a foreign word to these elected men and women… seeking what’s good for the people is an alien idea to these Congress peeps… they serve not us but the 1%…

Why I say that?

Check out the pharmaceutical companies… how they charge outrageous prices for meds for Aids folks… Hep C folks…for the meds that have been developed for these peeps that either severely curtail the effects of the respective illness or actually has been proven to cure the disease (Harvoni for Hep C folks)… or how when a med became free from a patent a certain dude brought the rights and upped the cost of one pill from the outrageous cost of $13 to uber-outrageous cost of about $75…

Or… how Medicare is not allowed due to a congressional mandate to negotiate prices for meds with the Pharm companies… that’s any prices for drugs. So, Medicare pays whatever them big Pharm dudes say they gotta pay. Hmmm? Why all the other insurance peeps in the world can negotiate except for Medicare? Who had the temerity and chutzpah to get that inserted into the Medicare process?Insidious Greed

Think some politician(s) wasn’t in somebody’s pocket for these big shot pharmaceutical companies to get away with that nastiness?

Let me lay it out for you… Politico A goes to Politico B and says tack this amendment onto your bill and I’ll give you my unfettered support to get it all passed. That’s a simplification of what goes on behind congressional closed doors but it more or less encapsulates what shenanigans go on and how we all continually get fucked where the sun don’t shine by them that gots.

And, don’t even get me  started on Big Money… Banks, investment corporations… or… Big Oil… any of those that are part and parcel to who really tells government what they all will do…

So, I just gotta say this… Johnny Crying Blue Eyes? Why in the hell didn’t ya’ll tell the truth and do the right thing if’n ya’ll believed what ya’ll said on that “Face the Nation” show? Ya’lls responsibilty was to us… we the peeps… and… ya’ll failed us.

Now ya’ll are leaving when ya’ll should be standing your ground and taking the fight to those bastards in your elephant party who would lead us down the worst possible thorny path there is.

Johnny Crying Blue Eyes… ya’ll are taking the cowards way out… and, for that, I cry for you and I especially cry for us that needs someone to stand up for us and tell the truth…

Johnny boy, ya coulda been somebody… ya coulda been a contender…

When it all comes down… I hope it doesn’t land on you; When the truth is found… I hope it will be true to you. All I’m sayin’ is have a nice day… I hope it doesn’t rain on your parade; An’ when it all comes down I hope it doesn’t land on you. (Thank you Hoyt Axton)

Now… let be clear on all of what I just said about Johnny Crying Blue Eyes and them elephants… a lot of that goes for them damn donkeys, too… the  government is in this mess because as much as the two sides of the aisle should try and work together for the good of all the people instead of the 1%… they just don’t. They are, instead, both hand in pocket with the peeps that gots. And, until that changes… from both the elephants and the donkeys… we all is gonna be continually and constantly fucked…. There will be no upward mobility… no trickle downs… no nothing for them that needs it most… us folks struggling to put food on the table and clothes on our family’s backs.trickle down theory.2

We do need a revolution in this country and it needs to start with finding alternatives to what we keeping getting when ballot time comes around… we need to find a Diogenes for our time who can go out and search for honest folks that can get elected and make a massive and seismic change in how government finally can be of, for, and, by the people.

Truth and freedom go hand in hand… without one the other will always suffer.

The word…

Yogi Berra, recently died at 90  on Tuesday (9/22) and the declarations of his wonderfulness and greatness both as a baseball player and as a person were trumpeted to here and back… and… they were by all accounts greatly deserved.

But, there is an incident in Berra’s life and then what he did in regards to that incident and what it all meant that I find to be a most endearing and enlightening thing about the guy and who he was.

Across the nearly decade and a half that Lawrence Peter Berra refused to step into Yankee Stadium in protest of the way George Steinbrenner had once fired him… not even in person but through a second party… as manager of the 1985 New York Yankees.yogi & george

It was not the fact that he got fired that Berra made his stand…  because Berra, as all managers in baseball, or for that matter in any sport, know… the day will come when most mangers, or head coaches, will be shown the door… only a select very few ever leave on their own terms. But, the fact that Steinbrenner had fired him after he had sat to next t Yogi on the day it was announced that Berra was to be the manager of the Yankees and had declared that no matter how the Yankees performed from the onset of the season Berra would not be fired… he would be the manager for the entire season. And, then a scant few weeks into the season… BAM… You’re fired…

And, while he didn’t rant about it, Berra was pissed and hurt… and he declared that as long as George Steinbrenner was associated with the Yankees he… Berra… would never set foot in Yankee Stadium.

See… the fact was Steinbrenner had given Berra his word and he then went back on it…that pissed Yogi off more than anything… especially since Steinbrenner was big on telling folks all about the virtue and value of being a Yankee.

So, for almost 15 years Berra was a man of his word… he never set foot in Yankee Stadium… not until almsot 15 years after Berra wore his oath, some folks went to Steinbrenner and said to him that it was time to tell Yogi he was wrong and that he was sorry for what he did.

And, when Berra was told about Steinbrenner wanting to see him and apologize, Berra still was adamant that he was a man of his word and that he had swore he would not set foot back into the Stadium and that was that… only through a lot of  family pleading did Berra finally give in (and, I suspect if the truth were told, Berra really did want back into the brotherhood that was the Yankee family), and, then finally  with one stipulation… that Berra’s wife and lifelong soul mate… Carmen… had to be in the room when Steinbrenner said he was sorry.

The thing was… and this is the most important part of all this… Berra was a man of his word…

Because, when ya’ll come right down to it… in the end all ya got is your word and if ya ain’t got that then what do you have?

Because your word is who you are…

Berra was in a manner of speaking just an honsnet man doing the best he can.

And, when he said something… well… it was his word.

Suffer the little children, and forbid them not…

A tiny messenger had a big message for Pope FGrankie…little girl letter to pope

Sophie Cruz, a 5-year-old girl from Los Angeles whose parents are undocumented immigrants, broke through the barriers during the papal parade in Washington, D.C. last Wednesday (9/23) and handed him a letter and a T-shirt.

At first the secuirty around Frankie Fried to stop the young child but Frankie siad uh-uh…le ther coem to me… Then Sophie handed him a bright yellow T-shirt, a colorful drawing, and a letter detailing her fears that her parents will be deported.

Francie, who has called for compassion toward immigrants worldwide, kissed the child on the cheek as one of the security detail lifted young Sophie up to be face-to-face with his Popeness.

Sophie, who was born in the U.S.A, said afterward… “I believe I have the right to live with my parents…I have the right to be happy… My dad works very hard in a factory galvanizing pieces of metal. All immigrants just like my dad feed this country. They deserve to live with dignity. They deserve to live with respect.”

Sophie’s father, Raul Cruz, said it was divine intervention… “It was a miracle… it was a miracle that the Pope saw our girl and selected her to bless her.”sophie-cruz-pope-575x402

Not sure if Papa Cruz is right or wrong but I know this for damn sure…

Sophie was and is 100% right on correct… she has every right to have what she said and what she wrote on the sign she presented to Frankie…every damn one of ‘em… all folks deserve to live in dignity… and with respect… and… she damn well has the right to be happy with her parents… her family… as do every single blessed child in this world… on this earth…

Ya want fries with that?

A new infographic released by the website Fast Food Menu Price breaks down what they claim happens to the body after consumption of the McDonald’s signature sandwich, the Big Mac…

I ain’t gonna waste words telling ya’ll what all supposedly happens to your body after consuming the burger…

Not when a picture is worth a thousand words…

A split what???

A British news anchor told his listeners that President Obama was “smiling like a split watermelon” during a meeting with the Pope.

Yep… the watermelon slur heard round the world…watermelon-obama

The guy immediately apologized, and, then said that he was unaware of the racial undertones associated with his expression.

Now… he’s from England and all that but I just don’t believe that he was not aware there are certain connotations that  are assumed when you associate certain images with Black folks… like watermelon… fried chicken… Stepin Fetchit… smile so i can see where you is… ya know … all those stereotypes…

Besides… whom the hell ever says anyone was “smiling like a split watermelon?” I mean, did anyone ever hear that saying before? Ever?

Stereotypes...
Stereotypes…

Needles to say… the newscaster took heat for his choice of words…

British former NBA player John Amaechi tweeted… “I’m sorry, did Channel 4 News just say Obama was ‘smiling like a split watermelon’? WTF. No. Just no. How does that get past editorial?!”

One viewer tweeted… “Ask yourself, would you have said President Bush smiled like a split watermelon!? Really shameful. The truth will out.”

But, then  I thought, since the dude was from Britain and all that, maybe, he should get cut some slack… but then I found out… that on the Channel Four website there is this little tidbit… he spent two years as the station’s Washington correspondent.

And… he never knew about Black folks and certain words and what they meant?

Sorry… dude… FAIL!

This week’s gratuitous pictures…

  1. I’m not the type to wish death on someone but I have to be honest: the day we hear George Zimmerman is murdered, I’m going to smile. From ear to ear and then I am going to high five the first person in my sight. That guy is a waste. There is no place on this Earth for such a piece of shit. Fuck him.

  2. I understand your feelings, EJ. I try not to hold hate in me, as much as the damage it does to me as because it disses the person being hated. But in the case of Gorgeous George Z., I find it very difficult to hold this attitude.
