I been a little behind things lately… even this column is going to press late today… been a WTF week and not looking like its gonna get better real soon… even the stuff I been spying in the news is making me go WTF real hard.
1) This is the old “unless you been living in a cave… on the moon… or… somewhere else, etc… where ya’ll been totally incommunicado” then you already grok the fact that Rudy Giuliani been drawing some heavy fire for some stuff he said about our fearless leader of the so-called free world… one Barack Obama… or as I calls him… the Bamster.
Simply put, it’s all about the love… or to be precise… the lack of love… or… to be more precise… it’s all about Rudy saying President Obama “does not love America” … then trying to clarify his comments after the donkeys slammed him and no elephants, of any significance, rushed to his defense.
What Rudy initially said was, “I know this is a horrible thing to say, but I do not believe that this President loves America. (Obama) doesn’t love you. He doesn’t love me. He wasn’t brought up the way you were brought up and I was brought up: To love this country.”
The words were said at Manhattan’s 21 Club where a dinner was being held for Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who’s considering a run for the White House.
Some of the donkey comments…
“Rudy Giuliani decided to attack the President’s love of his own country, his patriotism, his devotion to the United States of America. It’s absolutely… I think it’s pitiful. I find it a cheap political trick for Rudy Giuliani to question the President’s love of the country. That is just… that is stooping very, very low, even for him.” …Bill de Blasio, NYC mayor.
“Is this what it’s really come to? … now is the time for (the) leaders (of the Republican party) to stop this kind of nonsense. Enough. Jeb Bush. Scott Walker. Marco Rubio. Now it’s your turn. Chris Christie. Ted Cruz. Rand Paul. Stand up, say ‘enough.’ Lindsey Graham, Carly Fiorina, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, Ben Carson, Mike Pence, John Kasich and the rest of you.” …Florida congresswoman and Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
Giuliani then tried to sorta kinda backtrack from his comments when he tried to clarify his comments during an appearance on “Fox & Friends,” saying he hadn’t been questioning Obama’s “patriotism” at all… “He’s a patriot, I’m sure. You can be a patriotic American and be a critic but then you’re not expressing that kind of love that we’re used to from a President.”
Asked about Giuliani’s remarks, White House spokesman Eric Schultz said, “Mr. Giuliani test-drove this line of attack during his fleeting 2007 run for the presidency. I was obviously not at the dinner last night, nor did I watch the remarks, so I’m going to leave it to those at the dinner to assess whether or not they were appropriate. He seems embarrassed enough to be doing damage control this morning, so I’m not going to pile on from here. But I will say I agree with him on one thing he said today, which is that it was a horrible thing to say.”
All of this is really just Rudy being Rudy… which is in no way a compliment, o,r meant as anything being close to a compliment. It is meant as me saying Rudy is an old has-been who should just go off and crawl into a corner and fade away.
I won’t go as far as to say what one Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones… aka Nas… once was rumored to have said about certain folks who held certain archaic backward views of life… that they just need to go off and die…
Or… when Oprah once said, “There are still generations of people, older people, who were born and bred and marinated in it, in that prejudice and racism, and they just have to die.”
Both Nas and Oprah were talking about racist, ethno-centric thinking but in my mind their words could include anyone who thinks revisionistically, un- and in-human, anti-societal… anti-American… just plain back-ass-awkwardness, ignorantly, stupid and blatant manner about anything what-so-ever.
I will say simply that Rudy’s time has come and gone and we do not live in the 1950’s, and, we do not need to return back to those days when McCarthyism almost tore the heart and soul out of what this country is supposed to be all about. Freedom. Which includes the ability to think how we wish to think whether those thoughts are right, left or middle of the road.
This is not to say I think the Bamster is a commie pinko nogudnik…
It is to say if every person who ever was introduced to any left wing thinking, philosophy… was anti-love America; it is to say everyone who was not brought up like all them other so-called god-fearing, mom-loving, apple-pie-loving, baseball-loving folks in this here America is anti-love America; it is to say all them who don’t love their country in a certain way because they was not brought up as those other folks and are therefore anti-love America… then, damn, is all I can say because we all is in a hell of a heap of trouble right here in River City because probably 50%, or more, folks who were brought up in working class… probably even middle class… environments… especially, if, in some way shape or form there was a trade-union background somehow connected… would and should be categorized and labeled the same as the Bamster was by old Rudy.
His words… Rudy’s… they remind me of a time back in the day when certain peeps would say things like love it or leave it to peeps like myself when we demonstrated against the war. They questioned my morality; my love of country… and… ya know… ya know… I mean ya’ll really wanna know… it pissed me off back then and it pisses me off now!
I love my country; I love my country so damn much that I thought enough about it to take out the time to say, “Hey, what we be doing is wrong and immoral and we need to get our country back on the right path to being the best country in the world that simply looks out for freedom and protects those freedoms…”
Let me ask a question… Was MLK Jr. unpatriotic… anti-love America? Was he?
Because he sure as hell was not brought up like old Rudy and the peeps he thinks he identifies with, sure as hell was not.
No? MLK Jr.? He ain’t an anti-love American?
Well back in them days of marching and protesting he sure as hell was not thought about as some big flag waving, USA loving person but guess what? He sure as hell was in my book. A man who loved America and what America could be.
And, maybe the Bamster was not brought up in what some peeps see as a traditional flag waving pledge of allegiance all American manner, but, let me tell ya’ll something children, he is a tad more representative of today’s America than anything a lot of so-called all American types tend to be these days.
As for Rudy?
The man, to say the least, is an obfuscator and a person who sometimes has trouble distinguishing between the real and the unreal; the truth and the lie…. want more proof than just my words? Rudy Giuliani’s Five Big Lies About 9/11…http://www.visibility911.org/rudy-giulianis-five-big-lies-about-911/
2) ) For a U.S. company based in the South, like the Krispy Kreme doughnut chai, it’s not exactly something they would want to be identified with and, in fact, quickly put the kibosh on anyone thinking they would be by quickly steeping up and saying “sorry”… a big time sorry in fact!
A British franchise advertised a “KKK Wednesday” … as in the Krispy Kreme Klub, not the Ku Klux Klan.
Now according to a statement made to CNBC by public relations manager Lafeea Watson “(Krispy Kreme is) truly sorry for any inconvenience or offence this misstep may have caused our fans. We do believe this was a completely unintentional oversight on the part of our longtime franchise partners in the U.K. They have taken quick and appropriate actions to remove the materials online and in shops, and have whole heartedly apologized to their consumers.”
Now I know this is a Brit franchise and they may not be all that up to speed on some stuff but really they didn’t stop to think about what the Letters KKK might mean to a lot of folks?
Yeahhhh… maybe it was an innocent mistake…. butttt… well we got our eye on ya’ll so just watch it buddies.
3) Then there was this new bite… “Disturbing video showing Chelsea fans pushing a black man out of a Paris subway car Tuesday is leading to strong condemnation from both the soccer and political worlds.”
The Brit PM David Cameron called the actions of a group of Chelsea supporters “extremely disturbing and very worrying.”
His comments came a day after a video posted online by the Guardian newspaper shows a group of so-called “fans” making racist comments to a man that appears to be a random and local commuter as he tried to get on a Paris train.
Twice he gets shoved off the train then you can hear assholes saying, “Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea… we’re racist, we’re racist and that’s the way we like it.”
The Paris prosecutor’s office has opened a probe and variosu media sources state that under French criminal code for racially motivated violence on public transport a peep could get up to 3 years in prison and a $51,000 fine.
The Chelsea club issued a statement that asked for anyone with info to contact the police for the public’s help to nab the racist fans. The club also said if any folks who claim to be fans are found in any way to be culpable with the incident then they will be banned from Chelsea matches.
The Football Association said, “The FA fully supports Chelsea’s position in seeking to ban any of the club’s season-ticket holders or members who face criminal action in relation to these abhorrent scenes. The FA, like the club, completely condemn such disgraceful behavior which is a criminal offense and those responsible should face the strongest possible punishment.”
FIFA boss Sepp Blatter, said, “I… condemn the actions of a small group of Chelsea fans in Paris. There is no place for racism in football!”
I have no words… this is not supposed to be real in this day and age… yet… the proof is there .. it is… when will we all finally learn?
Maybe we won’t. And, maybe the shit needs to really hit the fan, and, then, it just may be too late to learn a damn thing.
4) It’s been real freaking cold lately around the northeast… how cold.. .well maybe not the hell freezes over type cold but cold enough to freeze the water that falls over Niagara Falls type of cold… it’s been that cold.
The water isn’t frozen solid, but sheets of ice built up on the Canada-U.S. border falls’ surface when temperatures plummeted early this week. Last Monday saw a low of -13 degrees.
5) Kate Hudson is on the cover of the March issue of Shape magazine, and to say the least, she is bitching hot and in shape.
She says, “I’ve been switching up from the softer stuff, like Pilates and yoga, to more aggressive activities like TRX and boxing. I really enjoy sweating it out.”
But it ain’t all bad news about how Kate does it… she also said, “I was at my favorite French restaurant in Paris … eating everything I love … steak, fries, lots of wine. Then the dessert came, and I was having strawberries and cream pastries plus the wine. A svelte, sophisticated woman approached (my) table. She pointed to my glass of wine. ‘This is your piece of cake. That’s how you That’s what you should think’.”
Ya wanna know somehting else about Kate?
Alex Rodríguez is a true fool… He dumped her??? Dumbass.
6) It was recently announced that Andy Pettitte will have his number retired at Yankee Stadium this year, and, while he was on a local sports radio show talking about that fact, another fact was brought up… the fact that he at one time he admitted he used PEDs during his playing career.
Listen up… okay, okay… read up… “People are going to say what they want to, believe what they want to. When you say PEDs to me, man, I just can’t even comprehend that with me just because I don’t really believe I tried to enhance my performance on the field. If I would have, I would have told y’all that. Man, my story has been an open book. When it all came out [in the Mitchell report in 2007], I sat in the press conferences there for hours, I believe. I was told that [HGH] might be able to help me heal from an injury, in a time when I was searching and desperate to get back on the field.”
Andy, Andy, Andy… if you be taking stuff to heal from an injury quicker than the normal recuperation time that would be done through the usual medical methods… IT’S FREAKING PERFORMANCE ENHANCING!!!!
7) More Andy stuff… seems ex-teammate Chuck Knoblauch, who by the by was given a mention in the old Mitchell Report and has also admitted using PEDs, twitted out “Congrats to 46. Yankees retiring his number. Hopefully they don’t retire it like his HGH testimony.”
FYI… as mentioned… Knoblauch was in the Mitchell Report which provided detailed evidence that he used performance-enhancing drugs during his career. He is connected to PEDs through at least 3 different peeps and testimony was given that said he was injected with PEDs at least 7 times.
And, Knoblauch has admitted to using human growth hormone: “I did HGH.” He also says it didn’t help etc… etc… etc… but so the heck what! He used and is a lot dirtier than a lot of other folks who used… maybe not as dirty as some, but, from the evidence I have seen, he is a hell of a lot dirtier than old in denial Andy.
Hey Chuckie, baby… ever hear the one that goes… He without sin, let him cast the first stone?
Try it and maybe also STFU?
8) Another reason why some folks… well maybe a lot of folks.. shouldn’t have access to weapons…
News item: “A Michigan woman was trying to adjust her bra holster when she shot herself in the face.”
Seems, Christina Bond… back on New Year’s Day… was readjusting her piece that she had inside her bra when she looked down to see what was what and… BOOM!… shot herself in the eye.
Unfortunately, after she was taken to a hospital, she died a day later.
No comment and nuff said…
I ain’t even gonna get into how gracefully Zendaya handled it… and she really, really did… check her comments where she called Rancic’s statement “outrageously offensive.”
I will say she is entirely right when she says… “There is already harsh criticism of African American hair in society without the help of ignorant people who choose to judge others based on the curl of their hair. My wearing my hair in locs on an Oscar red carpet was to showcase them in a positive light, to remind people of color that our hair is good enough.”
Nuff said… and nuff of this bullshit, already.
And then some peeps wonder why some folks be demonstrating in the streets these days?
This weeks gratuitous pictures…
