Game of Thrones Season 4 Wrap-up!

Welcome to our weekly Game of Thrones Post, where we don’t do a recap. Our Game of Thrones fans- David and EJ, present candidates and opinions. Again, neither of us have read the books, so don’t be that person, ok? This is our final post for the season, So enjoy.

1. Why didn’t we see Gendry all season?Gendry

EJ: Gendry is probably out in Blackwater Bay paddling in circles. Or maybe he did make it back to Flea Bottom, and he has gotten himself fat having too many bowls of brown. In all seriousness, Melisandre already got what she wanted out of Gendry when she threw his blood filled leaches on the fire, and the Lannisters have moved on to other things. Gendry is probably laying low somewhere, and living his life.

David: I think Gendry is going to be a big part of next season. With all the fun of Season 4, he just kinda got pushed to the background, and I’m sure the showrunners are looking for ways to make him a power player coming soon. Just with everything else, just didn’t have the time.

2. With the Red Viper dead, the Mountain and the Hound most likely down, who is the Bad Ass of the Seven Kingdoms?Bronn

EJ: Part of me wants to say Ramsay Snow, but he’s just evil, so I’m going with Bronn. I’m convinced we are not done with him. Bronn is to be married to Lollys Stokeworth, and he’s got too much of that swag to just disappear completely from the story. Maybe we see Jamie bring him back into the picture, or Bronn just reappears and messes with the Lannisters just because. I don’t know, but I’m convinced we are going to see Bronn again.

David: I do get my partner’s responces before I post, so yes, I’d look at Bronn as the best one left, but if you think about it, how long would Bronn vs the Mountain last? 2 minutes? 3 tops? I mean really. The Viper played around and beat the mountain fairly easily. Yes the Mountain is awesome against condemned men, but against a trained killer? Not so much. I’m thinking the Red Viper’s Brother, and Jon Snow might be up there.

3. Best Moment of the Season?Arya Stark

EJ: Has to be the death of Joffrey. What is known as the Purple Wedding brought cheers, tweets of joy, and memes for days. I applauded when Joffrey died. I cheered. I laughed, and damn it I wanted that little bastard killed seasons before. Yes it’s acting, and the actor that plays Joffrey is really a nice kid, but he played him so cruely that you couldn’t help but beam when he choked out amd died. Also, the whole “who dunnit” that was his death was pretty entertaining.

David: My personal favorite is when Arya regains Needle, and gets her first kill. Arya is one of my favorite characters.

4. Worst Moment of the Season?Mountain and the Viper

EJ: The crushing death of the Red Viper Oberyn Martell. The Dornish Prince didn’t have much of a story line outside of seeking Lannister revenge, so I didn’t exactly see him as part of the series long term, but to get his head crushed like a grape? That was brutal. Now I admitted in a recap of that episode I had to look away because I’d been drinking and I didn’t want to spit out my drink, but when I watched the episode again a couple of days later, I got a little nauseous at the Mountain pushing in Oberyn’s eyeballs like that. I know the actor really didn’t get his head crushed (OBVIOUSLY!!) but it was still tough to look at it.

David: The end of Ser Freindzone. I enjoyed him getting closer and closer to the Mother of Dragons, even though she did get her Queenship on with the Second Sons guy. I’m sure Jorah will be back soon, but he’s going to be missed.

5. Episode 5.1 Scene 1, who do you want to see?Missandei and Khaleesi

EJ: Arya stepping off the boat in Braavos. A look of determination, but a little bit of fear in her eyes, as she tries to find her way back to Jaqen H’Gar the Braavosi that saved her at Harrenhal and a member of the assasin guild the Faceless Men. I’d like that intro. If I can’t get that as an opener to Season 5, I’ll settle for a scene of Tyrion getting off the ship in Pentos, and meeting an agent of Danerys Targaryen as he invites Tyrion to join up with the Khaleesi. That would be cool.

David: All about Arya. Option 2? Arya. Option 3? Tyrion. I want to see Varys more, I love him as a character. I get the feeling it might be Jorah and Fatpie, something that I would also enjoy.

By the way, I did you all the favor of the list of nekkid women that EJ really wants to see in scene 1, including the very detailed description of a scene involving Daenerys, Missandei and Cersei.

That’s it for Season 4. I hope you enjoyed it, and hopefully we will all be back for next season! If you have a question you need answered, let us know, and we will get to it before the season starts!
