Welcome to the 7poundbag End of the Year Spectacular.
Every Day from now until the New Year, a different Question about what was will be answered by the staff. I answered no followup questions and some questions can be taken different ways. Thus allowing the writer to answer how he or she felt.
That gives you, dear Reader, some new Content while allowing those of us that enjoy our families, or at least the food that comes with them, some time to partake.
Best Movie/Book/Show you have seen this year?
EJ: Best show I’ve seen this year is Game of Thrones. I love Game of Thrones. I love the show to the point, that I ignore everything else that goes on for that one hour on Sunday night. Everything. I can’t wait for the show to return next year.
Best book I’ve read this year is Mike Tyson’s Undisputed Truth. Mike Tyson is a childhood hero of mine. I grew up in Brooklyn, only a few blocks away from where Mike grew up, and like most kids of my era, I grew up looking up to Iron Mike Tyson. Reading his book makes me understand his issues, and re-live some of my childhood that was spent watching the Pay Per Views of his epic fights.
Best movie I’ve seen is Catching Fire: the Hunger Games sequel. I love the Hunger Games, and Katniss Everdeen is a bad ass chick.
Joe: “Little Green” by Walter Mosley
David: Show? I will also go with Game of Thrones. Few Shows have kept me coming back week after week like this one.
Movie: Last good one would be Hot Fuzz, thats the latest one I really liked.
Book: Scourge of God. One of these days I’ll do a book review.
Bill: Best show I watched this year was easily House of Cards on Netflix. A tremendous cast coupled with excellent writing makes for political intrigue of the highest order and at the top of that genre by a wide margin. I’m elated that they did another season that’s scheduled to be released in February. If you’ve not had a chance to see it, DO SO.
As for books or movies, sadly I’ve got nothing to add to either. My sole read this year was an older title not really worth mentioning and as for a movie, I can’t say I recall having gone to anything this year (lame, right?). I did catch a few titles that were released this year on-demand or on my premium cable, but still nothing that really stood out and made me take real notice.
Welcome to our weekly Game of Thrones Post, where we don’t do a recap. Our Game of Thrones fans- David and EJ, present candidates and opinions. Again, neither of us have read the books, so […]
In the interest of full disclosure… I rarely go to the movies and I watch little TV… outside of sports and maybe reruns of The Big Bang Theory … But, I do read… a lot… books, newspapers and the internet…. So, that’s why I have no opinion on shows or movies for the year.
