America’s Got Talent: Semifinals #2

AGTWelcome to the Second Semi-Final Week!

D’Angelo & Amanda – Dancers – Routine to Smooth Criminal, I thought it was great. Howie wasn’t impressed. Howard was. I enjoyed it more than most. The end at the water was an awesome effect.

Marty Brown – Singer –  “God Bless the Broken Road”, MUCh better than last time. He’s got the talent. I’m sure there are hundreds of singers in Nashville just as good or better, but he has some serious appeal.

Chicago Boys – Jump Roping – Impressive, did some tricks I have not see before. You ever seen this?Chicago Boyz

Leon and Romy – Did trick after trick. I enjoyed it, but got monotonous.

Anna Christine – Singer – Did “Wild Horses” by the Rolling Stones Maybe I missed something, I was not that enthused. Oh no I didn’t neither did the wife. I just don’t get it the whole vocal power she kept pushing. Hard to enjoy it.

Kenici Ibana – Wife picked off a little bit of it being off. I loved it. Was not as good as last time, but this was just as awesome.

John Wing – That was a STRONG set 3 laughs from me, and 7 from the wife. Just STRONG

Branden James – Does “Alone” by Heart. Here is my problem, AWESOME song, but why not in English? The crowd was not as excited as it normally is. The Wife agreed with Stern that he just didn’t love that long.

Kristeff Brothers – DAMN, just when you think no one can touch Ibana, here they came. I cannot believe there is a shot in hell that Ibana is not first place. Just an amazing thing to see. Giving away the gag on the swords hurt- you could tell on one trick the smaller brother did, but they totally gave it away at the end. Even the music was awesome- Final Countdown? Europe for the ’10s!

Military Spouses Choir – “Angel” Solid, but not stunning.

I think it slipped through your fingers

Timber Brown – HIGHLY disappointing – He just kept falling into the water, It just seems a bit repetitive and a bit dull. The wife wasn’t that excited. I understand it was hard to do, but I just kinda got bored.

Jimmy Rose – “If Tomorrow never comes” – The wife likes him more than Marty, I think he could be better, but Marty seems more likeable. I just think Marty has more stage presence.

So this is the final Semi-Final week. 12 acts, 6 go home. Like I have said, I rank mine by how I enjoyed it, the wife picks on how she thinks the voting will go.

My Picks

Kristeff Brothers
Kenici Ibana
John Wall
D’Angelo & Amanda
Military Spouses Choir
Branden James

Leon and Romy
Chicago Boys
Marty Brown
Jimmy Rose
Timber Brown
Anna Christine

I think Brenden James gets the Vote over Anna Christine. I could also see the Military Choir getting sent hom with a powerful turnout for Jimmy Rose and Anna.

The Wife’s Picks

Kristeff Brothers
Kenici Ibana
John  Wall
Chicago Boys
Military Spouses Choir
D’Angelo & Amanda

Brenden James
Anna Christine
Jimmy Rose
Marty Brown
Leon and Romy
Timber Brown

We both like the Brothers, Kenici, John Wall as No-Brainers, We both like D’Angelo and Amanda to get enough to squeak in, and the Choir to survive another week. We differ where she likes the Chicago Boyz and I like Brenden James to get in. The spoiler is still Jimmy Rose- Just because he got the Hammer.
