Welcome to the Semi-Finals of America’s got Talent!
No big huge opening this week, as Nick Cannon just wanders from the street to the back, and off we go. I kind of like the subdued opening more than the prodution.
First out of the gate: The Kristoff Brothers had an injury.
To Replace her: Red Panda- Howies Wildcard pick Who had a family emergency and missed her week in the quaterfinals. So she is not really replacing them, she just got a wildcard pass.
We get 12 acts, and 6 spots to fill.
To the show:
Tone the Chiefrocca – Mel B’s wildcard pick – Same thing . . .zzzz. A good bit more production, but again, the SAME THING. Whyyyyyyyyyy. Mel B. Sounded like we got an X- and we did from Stern.
Red Panda – Throws dishes on her head- Did the same thing she did before, but again, this time she missed. She’s 2/4 on perfect act. Again, can she do it for an hour? I can see it as a good palate cleaner, but a 45 minute act? No.
Angela Hoover – Comedianne – Started off weak, got better, but again, she needs a bit more. Her Sharon Osborne was spot on. She got one laugh out of me, and 2 from the wife. Again, she needs a better writer. She’s not good enough on her own.
Duo Resonance – Dancer – Heidi’s pick, one of the few things I agree with her on. I think thier last performance was better. Howard agrees with me on that point and says the box got in the way. To me they are easily the best of the night, but they have a problem, they can be buried by flashier acts.
Collins Key – Magic – Kind of a long trick, and a bit disjointed, and his goofyness tends to play into the non-smoothness of his act. I think its good enough to move forward, but not by the gap he should be.
Innovative Force – Dancers – Again, it looks like an advanced cheer-leading group. I called my shot on the rankings, and the wife wasn’t impressed either, saying they have done it before. It does seems like they missed a few spots. Heidi thinks it was the best act of the night. Mel thinks they were “messy”.
Dave Fenley – Singer – Talks about how much he loves Mel B. I joked he’s gonna do “Wannabe” – Damn I was close, he does “I’ll be there” I didn’t like the uh- attempted BeatBox. I just don’t think it was impressive. Howard hated the BeatBox as well. Howie gives him the Best act of the night award. The wife really liked it. I wonder if he could open for Blues Traveller?
Taylor Williamson – Comediane – I called him hitting a solid second.
He nailed first place. I got 4 laughs, and the wife 3 good ones. Just an incredible set.
Johnathan Allen – Singer – Good voice, but I’m just not there. Kinda slow and bit boring.
Catapult – Dancers – I’m kinda stunned they are not getting the hammer. Must be Forte getting it. Why do they keep saying how unique they are? They are not! We have seen this before!! The song kinda took away from it, It wasn’t a good rendition of “Wherever you may go” – think thats the name. It was good, but again, not great. Some of the props were obvious, and some of the props were dull. None of the judges (but Heidi) were that impressed.
Cammie Bradley – Singer – “Falling in love with you” I love this song, and again, she did it her way, but I still am not sure it was a good move. Was it good? Yes, was it very good? Yes, was it great? No. I didn’t like the vocal theatrics in the middle. Mel thought it was a bit dull. Heidi couldn’t figure out the song? Really? Howard loved it. One of the few times we disagree.
Forte – Opera – I’m just not a fan of Opera. Sorry. I think this sounds like Unchained Melody. The wife picked it up faster than Heidi picked up Elvis. I think there are enough English songs that could take advantage of this octaves. Howie comes right out and says they sent Johnathan Allen home.

The Wife’s Rankings
Tone the Chiefrocca
So the only difference is I have Catapult and the Wife has Dave Fenley. Might be the first time where my ranking match my enjoyment.
