NFL Mock Draft Part III

NFL DRAFT

Welcome to the Mock Draft! This year, Archie and David are doing things a bit different, Archie is playing GM for the AFC teams and David is doing the same for the NFC.

Day 1 Here
Day 2 Here

tb-buccaneers-helmet13. Tampa Bay Bucs

Needs: T-Bay plays Matt Ryan, Drew Brees and Cam Newton twice a year. Think we need some secondary help? Someone that can rush the passer would be nice as well.

The Pick: Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State.  A Bit of a reach at 13, but a SEC corner is almost always a good idea.

Also looking at: Ezekiel Ansah, DE/OLB Thats a pass-rusher I can love.

Chances of a trade: As the Bucs GM, I want that corner, I NEED that corner, but If I can drop a spot because someone wants Mike Glennon or Lane Johnson? Sure. But I’m going to be careful.

car-panthers-helmet14. Carolina Panthers

Needs: O-Line Depth, Secondary, How about a tag-team partner for Steve Smith (again)?

The Pick: Colin Cole is a nice pickup, but I need to hit like I did last year with Luke. I’m going to take Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida. Even in I re-sign Edwards, I’m not going to win the NFC South with Cole and Edwards at DT.

Also looking at: Lane Johnson would be nice, but he’s not going to help a ton right now.

Chances of a trade: If I can sneak up and grab Banks, I will. If I can drop a bit for a good price, I have tons of needs.

no-saints-helmet15. New Orleans Saints

Needs: Sean Peyton. Done. Ok, I need 11 people on Defense. Ok, maybe just 9.

The Pick: I’m stunned Barkevious Mingo, DE/OLB, LSU is still there. This is a steal. I can plug him in almost anywhere on the front seven, and let him go. He’s not much against the run, but he’s an LSU product, just for a bonus.

Also looking at: Kenny Vaccaro, Ezekiel Ansah

Chances of a trade: High. I have a ton of needs, and its not like I can’t drop 7-10 spots and get guys that can start.

stl-rams-helmet16. St Louis Rams

Needs: Offensive Line, Tight End, and like everyone else in this group, secondary. I wouldn’t mind a top WR either.

The Pick: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma. I’m bum-rushing the stage so fast that I’m gonna draw a 25K fine from the Commish if Johnson is still there.

Also looking at: Chance Warmack, G, Alabama

Chances of a trade: None. My cap has issues, and I have Steven Jackson to bring back.

pit-steelers-helmet17. Pittsburgh Steelers

Needs: FS, SS, OL

The Pick: Jonathan Cooper, OG, UNC

Also looking at: Ezekiel Ansah, Kenny Vacarro

Chances of a trade: Losing Mike Wallace to Free Agency takes away their quick strike among wide outs. Pittsburgh has never been to keen on trading away 1st round picks but the right package to obtain a feature RB / WR combo could make them give this one away.

dls-cowboys-Helmet18. Dallas Cowboys

Needs:  New Coach? A New GM? no? Ok, how about some O-Linemen, especially a Center. I’m also moving to a 4-3, so I need some players that can play there.

The Pick: Ezekiel Ansah, DE/OLB, BYU 280 pounds of Pass-Rush. Not a Mega-Need or really a great pick. but he works hard, got a great motor, and hopefully becomes a great buddy with Ware.

Also looking at:Dion Jordan, DE/OLB, Oregon, Kenny Vacarro

Chances of a trade: High. With Jones, always high.
